“I.. I don’t know!” Azure’s voice trembled, panic etched into every word. Fear glimmered in his eyes.
He knew Alvi, knew him too well, and that knowledge terrified him. His twin was capable of unimaginable things, and the thought that Alvi might actually kill the human sent chills down his spine.
“What do you mean you don’t know?!” Xorran’s control snapped. Rage and fear collided, consuming him.
He lashed out at the barrier again, fists pounding and claws scraping, but the effort was weakened, most of his strength had been drained in his earlier fight against Azure and the soldiers. “Do something!” he demanded.
Shaking off the lingering panic, Azure steadied himself and joined Xorran, throwing his full power into the effort to break the barrier.
