Chapter 4

783 Words
Julieanna held her handbag, walked to the car with a calm face, leaned over, and opened the door. "Mr. Pruitt." Adam's eyes were complicated. He did not stop her from getting in the car at all. Instead, he kept staring at her side face. Julieanna sat in the car with her back straight and said nothing as if nothing had happened. "You are out so soon." His cold voice drifted to her ears. Julieanna curled up her lips, leaned over, and looked at Adam sarcastically. "Mr. Pruitt, did you think I wouldn't be able to come out?" Adam narrowed his eyes. He suddenly withdrew his scrutinizing gaze and sneered, making it hard to tell whether he was happy or not. "You are something." Julieanna suddenly stopped smiling and turned to look ahead. She subconsciously lowered her head, and her face blurred under the dim light. "Mr. Pruitt, I have to thank you for that. I've learned a lot from you during these years." Adam gently wiped his lips with his fingers, and his eyes were full of scrutiny and suspicion as he looked up into the rearview mirror. He could see Julieanna in the mirror. Even after that heart-stopping experience, she still looked perfectly calm, as if she were a robot. She was an entirely different person from the lively woman she was a few years ago. The light flashed out the window, and so did the bruise on her neck. The smile in his eyes vanished instantly, and he looked at Julieanna coldly again. "Stop the car." The driver reacted quickly. He pulled over quickly and got out of the car right away. Julieanna suddenly found it hard to control her anger. She took the opportunity to turn around and open the car door. Just as she placed her hand on the door lock, a hand appeared on her waist and pulled her back hard. Her body fell into his broad embrace, and his familiar scent filled her nostrils in the next second. He held her from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. Julieanna gritted her teeth and panted as she struggled. She said, "Mr. Pruitt, we are outside." As soon as she finished speaking, Adam snorted coldly, brushed the hair on her neck away, and saw the bruise. "You found it OK to go to the lounge with him but not stay in the car with me?" As he spoke slowly, he had already reached behind her and unzipped her dress with his cold hand deftly. Julieanna was suddenly overwhelmed by the fear from half an hour ago, and she bit her lip hard and cursed silently. She said to him in her mind, "Bastard!" "Keep your voice down later. The driver is still out there." He pressed his thin lips against her earlobe while kept staring at her side face, not missing the slightest change in her expression. Julieanna was so angry that her whole body was trembling. She cursed him in her mind non-stop, yet she couldn't move a bit, since her hands were tied. Adam felt the softening of her body and unconsciously lessened the pressure on her. He lowered his head and pressed his lips against her neck. "Mr. Pruitt?" Julieanna took the chance and called out to him. He did not stop. Instead, he kept kissing the neck of the woman under him intensely, a little out of breath. Julieanna turned her face and stared at the roof of the car. "Won't you be disgusted by me?" Adam frowned slightly and paused. Julieanna opened her mouth and said word by word, "I was with Louis for twenty minutes in there, which was enough for the whole set." Adam's pupils contracted, his jaw tightened, and a trace of disgust flashed through his eyes. Julieanna took the opportunity to break free from his arms and slowly tidied up her already messy clothes. The man behind her did not move, and she could feel the burning gaze fixated on her back. She took a deep breath, took her handbag, and reached out to open the door. "Mr. Pruitt, just so you know, I quit." After saying that, ignoring the reaction of the man behind her, she straightened her back and got out of the car. When the driver heard the sound, he ran over in a daze. "Ms. Seymour?" Julieanna was about to brush him off when both of them heard Adam's slightly angry voice from the car. "Tell her to piss off!" The driver looked a little embarrassed. He was in a dilemma. Julieanna shrugged and smiled politely at the driver. Then she turned and walked to the curb in her high heels without looking back.
