Chapter 5 (Addisons POV) Walking in the gym doors I wasn’t sure what to expect. I assumed tutoring meant books and whatnot. Instead Professor Saint was standing in the middle of the room. Two gymnastic mats in front of him. I met his eyes without a smile, and he did the same. “Alright Addison, we’re going to keep this brief, and to the lesson. I don’t have time or patience for whining and weakness. We start with combat today.” “Combat?...I’m supposed to be learning magic.” I said a bit defensively “Yeah. Defensive magic is a component of combat. Christ, you really don’t understand much do you.?” He said with underlying disgust. I stared at him in utter shock. Who the f**k does he think he is, and why does he have to be such a prick to me? I’ve literally done nothing for him to hate me like this. “This was a mistake.” I said angrily. I turned and stormed back the way I came in. “Addison! Do not walk away from me I am your professor and this is a direct request of the Dean.” He said with an air of authority. “f**k you! I don’t need this.” I said over my shoulder. I reached for the door handle, but before I could grasp it a strong hand clamped down on my upper arm, and spun me around pressing my back to the door. Suddenly I came face to face with him. He stood a foot and a bit taller than me, but his face was bent down mere inches from mine. He breathed heavily glaring into my eyes. He smelled of deep amber with hints of pine and sandalwood. Neither of us spoke. As we stood there his gaze dropped to my lips and his face relaxed his eyes darkening. His hands were planted on the door on either side of my head. I noticed his forearms tense and his expression suddenly looked conflicted. My heart began to pick up speed. “Try again tomorrow, same time, less attitude.” He said pushing himself back from me. I simply nodded, turned and left. What in God’s name was that about? (Killians POV) That was way too f*****g close. Was I actually about to kiss a student? One that I’ve vowed to not get involved with. I don’t know what this woman is doing to me but I need to get it in check and fast. I had planned on keeping today fast paced, and grueling for her so she didn’t want to keep these sessions up for long, but the way she defied me made me want to take her right there on the gym floor, regardless of who walked in. Who knew she had fire in her like that. As much as I don’t like this tutoring set up, I can’t deny I’m looking forward to tomorrow… (Addisons POV) I hadn’t a single thought the entire jog back to my dorm. Now I was sitting on my bed and I couldn’t stop thinking! Am I naive to think he wanted to kiss me? Was he really just trying to intimidate me or did he actually want more…? That thought alone had heat pulsing between my thighs, and I internally smacked my self for getting swayed so easily. I shook the thought off and glanced at the clock. Even though it was late I wasn’t really tired yet. I decided to go for a stroll around campus and check out the grounds. Who knew, maybe I’ll run into Taryn, and she can take me on that tour she was so eager to do. I walked out the back exit of the commons, and outside into the humid evening air. There was a large grassy area in the center surrounded by benches. Trees lined the entire perimeter, and past those was dense forest. I always loved the woods , my parents used to take me camping in the Tetons every summer when I was a kid. I missed them. Walking into a trees a small ways I stopped when I heard voices. They were coming from the side of the Academy. I peered around the base of a large tree to see who it was. To my surprise it was Rixon and Trinity, they appeared to be arguing but it was hard to tell in the dark and from their hushed tones. Thankfully I was shrouded in darkness, but still close enough to pick up bits of what they were saying. “Look it’s… f*****g fault he stole it… had 3 days of nothing. You need to get close to him so…can get in there! Without the book we can’t locate it… indicated it’s nearby before…took it!” I took a step closer to hear better, when a loud snap of a stick sounded under my foot. Trinity, and Rixon stopped talking, and swung to look in my direction peering into the dark intensely. My heart thundered under my chest, and I held my breath praying they would not come to investigate. After a minute or so they turned back to one another. Trinity whispered something I couldn’t hear and they left in opposite directions. I couldn’t fight this feeling that somehow what they were discussing involved me…
