BLACK PANTHER ACADEMY Chapter 1: The New Student The black gates of Black Panther Academy opened at exactly seven o'clock in the morning. For most students, that sound meant another ordinary school day. For the students who knew the academy's secrets, however, the opening of those gates meant something completely different. It meant that the territory was open again. The enormous academy stood on top of a hill surrounded by tall trees and stone walls. From outside, it looked like an expensive private school—beautiful buildings, spotless gardens, modern classrooms, a massive library, and an athletic field that could rival a professional stadium. But behind the polished appearance was another world. A world controlled by student groups. Six powerful factions ruled the academy. The Red Vipers. The Silver Wolves. The Golden Hawks. The Shadow Roses. The Blue Dragons. And the most feared of them all... The Black Panthers. Nobody officially called them gangs. The teachers called them student organizations. The principal called them leadership groups. But every student knew the truth. They were gangs. And each gang had its own territory, rules, hierarchy, reputation, and fighting style. Anyone who challenged one of them had better be prepared for the consequences. A black luxury car slowly stopped outside the academy gates. Students immediately began looking. The car was unfamiliar. Its windows were heavily tinted, making it impossible to see who was inside. A moment later, the rear door opened. A girl stepped out. She looked completely ordinary. She wore the academy's new uniform—a black blazer with silver buttons, a white shirt, a black skirt, and polished shoes. Her long dark hair fell naturally over her shoulders. She carried only one backpack. No expensive jewelry. No bodyguards. No driver following her. She looked around quietly. The girl was sixteen years old. Her name was Axeril Vale. Nobody knew much about her. And that was exactly how she wanted it. The driver stepped out and opened the trunk. "Miss Vale," he said. "Your luggage." Axeril shook her head. "I only need the backpack." "But your parents instructed—" "I said I only need the backpack." The driver immediately stopped talking. Axeril closed the car door herself. Then she looked toward the academy. For several seconds, she simply stared at it. Black Panther Academy. The name had appeared repeatedly in the documents she had received. A prestigious academy. Excellent grades. Elite students. Perfect facilities. That was what the official brochure said. But Axeril knew there was more. Much more. Her father had warned her before she left. "Don't trust everyone." Her mother had given her another warning. "If someone asks about your past, don't answer." And her older brother had said something that had stayed in her mind. "If you hear the name Black Panther, leave." Yet here she was. Standing directly in front of the academy. Axeril adjusted the strap of her backpack. "Too late now." She walked through the gates. The moment she entered, the atmosphere changed. Students stopped talking. Some stared openly. Others whispered. Axeril ignored them. She continued walking toward the main building. Then someone suddenly stepped in front of her. A tall boy with silver hair. He had three students behind him. Axeril stopped. The boy smiled. "New student?" "Obviously." The boy's smile disappeared slightly. Most students wouldn't answer him like that. "I'm Kairo Shin." Axeril looked at him. "Okay." One of the boys behind him laughed. Kairo's eyes narrowed. "You don't know who I am?" "No." "You'll learn." Axeril stepped around him. Kairo grabbed her backpack strap. "Not so fast." Axeril looked down at his hand. Then she looked back at him. "Let go." Kairo laughed. "And if I don't?" The courtyard became silent. Everyone was watching. A girl standing near the fountain whispered to her friend. "She's dead." "Definitely." "That's Kairo from the Silver Wolves." "He never lets anyone disrespect him." Axeril slowly removed the backpack from her shoulder. Kairo looked confused. "What are you—" Axeril suddenly twisted his wrist. Kairo's expression changed. She moved so quickly that nobody understood what happened. One second he was standing. The next second he was bent slightly forward, his arm locked behind him. Axeril leaned closer. "I told you." Her voice remained calm. "Let go." Kairo immediately released the strap. Axeril released his wrist. The courtyard erupted in whispers. Kairo stared at her. Axeril picked up her backpack and continued walking. Behind her, Kairo rubbed his wrist. One of his friends approached. "Are you okay?" Kairo didn't answer. His eyes remained fixed on Axeril. "Who is she?" Nobody knew. But someone else had already noticed. At the far end of the courtyard, a group of students wearing black jackets with a silver panther emblem stood together. The Black Panthers. Their leader was a seventeen-year-old boy named Riven Cross. He was tall, quiet, and intimidating. Beside him stood Mika Reyes, the group's strongest female fighter. Next to Mika were Jace, Luna, Damon, and Sora. Riven watched Axeril disappear into the academy building. Mika crossed her arms. "Interesting." Jace smiled. "Very interesting." Luna tilted her head. "She just embarrassed Kairo." Damon laughed. "Nobody does that on their first day." Riven said nothing. Mika looked at him. "You're thinking about recruiting her." "No." "Then why are you staring?" Riven finally looked away. "Because she wasn't afraid." Mika smiled. "That's exactly why." Inside the main building, Axeril walked through the hallway. She studied the students around her. There were hundreds of them. But something felt strange. Groups of students gathered according to the color of their accessories. Red ties. Silver pins. Gold bracelets. Blue wristbands. Black roses. Black panther emblems. Axeril understood immediately. The factions. She had researched them before coming. The Red Vipers controlled information. The Silver Wolves controlled physical territory. The Golden Hawks controlled money and influence. The Shadow Roses controlled secrets. The Blue Dragons controlled the underground student network. And the Black Panthers controlled the center of the academy. The strange part was that the teachers acted as if nothing was happening. Axeril entered her classroom. The teacher looked up. "You must be our new student." "Yes." "Name?" "Axeril Vale." The teacher smiled. "Welcome to Black Panther Academy." Axeril walked toward an empty seat. Before she could sit, a girl approached her. She had long brown hair and a friendly smile. "Hi." Axeril looked at her. "I'm Lia Morgan." "Axeril." "I know." Axeril raised an eyebrow. "How?" "Everyone knows." Axeril sighed. "Already?" Lia laughed. "You embarrassed Kairo Shin." "It wasn't intentional." "Sure." Lia sat beside her. "Listen, Axeril. I'm going to give you some advice." "What?" "Don't get involved with the gangs." Axeril looked at her. "Why?" "Because once you choose a side, you can't easily leave." Before Axeril could respond, the classroom door opened. A girl entered. The room immediately became quiet. She wore a black uniform decorated with a small silver rose. The Shadow Roses. The girl slowly walked toward Axeril. Lia became nervous. "That's Serena Black." Serena stopped beside Axeril's desk. "So you're the new girl." Axeril looked up. "Apparently." Serena smiled. "I heard about what happened outside." "News travels fast." "At this academy?" Serena leaned slightly closer. "Everything travels fast." Axeril stared at her. Serena continued. "You should be careful." "Is that a threat?" "No." Serena smiled. "It's advice." She turned and walked away. Lia exhaled. "You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into." Axeril looked toward Serena. "I didn't come here to join a gang." Lia lowered her voice. "Nobody does." The bell rang. The teacher entered. "Everyone, take your seats." The classroom became quiet. But outside the window, another group had gathered.
