Marry Him

1066 Words
Selena’S POV After I left Rhys's room, I was contemplating whether I should leave this pack, like he wants, but something inside me doesn't want me to go. If I decided to leave among the humans, they would accept me. “Look at her, loser,” a blonde girl yelled as I was passing through the corridor. I decided not to reply to her; tears formed in my eyes, and I don't want to give them joy. I need to show that I am strong enough to handle this. My wolf growled within me; the more I was moving away from him, the more I wanted him. I could still feel his hand on my neck. It's true the bond is stronger than anything, but how can I marry this man who publicly disgraced me? “Selena, you're back,” Thaila yelled as she was about to enter my room. I didn't know when I reached here that I had been controlled by my thoughts. “What did he say? Did he want to marry you?” She said, holding my left hand. She dragged me into my room. I couldn't say anything. She had already prepared some food for me, but I don't know if I am in the mood to eat now; I already lost my appetite. I have been going through a lot lately “He told me to go away,” I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. “Did he hurt you?” she said worriedly as she touched my neck. The pain was unbearable, but I don't know if something in me wants the pain more. Her touch was different from his own. “Don't worry about anything; we will think of a solution tomorrow.” She helped me sit down and poured some water inside the glass cup on the table. The more I was drinking the water, the more I wished it was his lips on mine. What will I do if he later accepts to marry me? He’d make my life a living hell; I know that. Suddenly the door burst open; it was Elder Rowan. I am sure he's just coming back from the meeting that was held because of me. I am not the talk of the town. The Omega girl, who wasn't to be mated to the Alpha, but I can't do it. I will fight for my place, and I will surely make his life a living hell; I will make sure he is begging for my attention. He can't just disgrace me publicly and try to marry me again. “My daughter, you need to marry Rhys,” Rowan said, his voice low. I could feel how hurt he was. “Father I can't; it's not easy.” I stammered as tears rolled down from my eyes. “You must be my child.” He held me close. “You need to go for the sake of the pack and for your life.” He added. It's true; legend says if I didn't marry him, I might lose my life, and our pack could be under threat from different packs. “Father, I need to have some moments alone.” Whenever I am done or whenever I don't feel myself, there's a lake I do go through; I consider her as my best friend. As I was going, the moonlight shone brightly. I looked up and wondered why the moon goddess decided to make my life a living hell. The shimmering sounds of the leaves and trees were the only sounds I could hear apart from my footsteps. I leaned against a tree, trying to summon my wolf, when I heard another footstep closer and getting closer to me. I don't want to look back, because this person who's coming might want to harm me. I changed my stance to a defensive mode. Maybe this is the time I need to run away, but I can't run forever. “Who's there?” I shouted. I could hear my heartbeat. Like I am running in a marathon. Suddenly the footsteps stopped behind me. It was close enough that I could hear and feel the person's body heat. Cutting through the cold night. I could feel my wolf snarling inside me. The person's claws are scraping at my rib. “It's me, Selena,” the voice said in a low growl. I turned back, and I was surprised to see that it was Rhys. What is he doing here? How did he know that I am here? A lot of questions run through my mind. I could not move; my hand formed on the tree. “You shouldn't be out here alone,” he said. I could honestly feel his voice. He's trying to care about me, but that is just the mate bond. But with what he said, I try not to laugh. “You're the one that told me to disappear,” I say. I move two steps backwards away from him. “Why do you care now?” I added. “I am confused,” he said. His voice low and Husky, Confused, I tried to look into his eyes to see some truth there, but I didn't see any. Why will he tell me he's confused? Or did he mean it? He publicly rejected me and disgraced me, and now he says he's confused. “Confused?” I asked. Looking into his steel grey eyes, “You don't need to know about that; you have to come with me now to the palace,” his voice firm and commanding. “No, I don't want to follow you,” I said reluctantly. He pulled my hand and drew me closer to him; I could feel his breath. “I am not asking you; I am commanding you as your Alpha.” “My Alpha, who marked me and publicly rejected me.” I pulled my hands away from him, and I turned my back, trying to go into the woods. “Where are you going?” he asked. “You don't need to know,” I replied. “At least you said I should disappear, so that's what I want to do. I need to leave you so you can enjoy your life with Selene,” I added. “You have to come back with me now and marry me.
