I sat frozen for a full minute, trying to process what I'd just seen.
Finally, I sucked in a shaky breath and reached for the phone.
My fingers trembled. My pulse was pounding in my throat.
I hit the power button. The screen lit up again.
The image was still there. Still horrifying.
Four human heads.
They were laid out neatly. Like someone meant it.On some weird mushroom-growing surface.The pieces were bloody. Cut clean. Definitely real.
The first time I saw it, I nearly dropped the phone. My stomach turned so fast I thought I might black out.
I never considered myself easily scared, but this?
This was something else.
Something no amount of mental prep could've softened.
