“Please, save David!” Zain begged.
Israpheel raised his eyebrows, surprised.
The tunnel fell silent afterwards.
Zain wiped his tears and ran to the entrance. The others exchanged glances and sat down far to let Israpheel work. The angel stood up. “All right. If that’s what you want…”
He walked to David’s dying body and clicked his fingers as a white light lifted it up mid-air. The ice melted gradually, and the swollenness disappeared. Israpheel watched him in silence for a few minutes then the light disappeared, and David collapsed back on the ice. The fall made him wake up. He sat up, resting a hand on his face. He saw Israpheel first and looked at him, confused. “What happened?” he asked with a whisper, seeming shook. Israpheel shrugged and left the tunnel. “Now I’m bored again…”
