Chapter Eight

844 Words
Grayson’s POV  I turn around to see the man I don’t think I could loathe more fussing his way through the front door. Trumble Smith is the walking embodiment of asshole as he strolls into this little sports bar in his Italian suit and Raybans like he owns the place. He’s smart, I’ll give him that, and fairly good looking with blue eyes and black hair that he bathes with gel. Being the Head of Technology at his dad’s company keeps him with a solid income and away from home a lot, the latter of which I’m immensely grateful for. He sashays his way to our table immediately grabbing Jai and giving her a slobbery, exaggerated kiss that makes my stomach turn. Jai gently pushes him away, but he maintains a possessive hold around her as he looks around the table bored. “Hello everyone,” he sighs, obviously not happy about being here. Troy clears his throat, “So happy you could join us Trumble. How was China?” The asshole chuckles then begins to regale us all with the wonders of Asia, making sure we all know how much better he thinks he is than us. As he talks I keep glancing at Jai only to catch her eyeing me. She blushes a gorgeous pink before breaking eye contact. “So, we were in the meeting an-” “I’m gonna go get some drinks,” Jai interrupts Trumbles twenty minute long ramble. He brushes her off, “Okay, whatever.” I shake my head and walk around the table after her, “I’ll come with you.” Together we walk towards the bar finally getting out of earshot of the tech genius. “So, China?” I ask as we reach the bar. Jai just nods, “China. Next week it’ll be India. Then in a month London, Brazil, Berlin, Australia. Pretty much anywhere but home, with me.” I can tell she’s frustrated and I don’t blame her.  “Home?” I ask curious if it means what I think it means. She sighs, “Biggest mistake I ever made. I gave up my apartment and now I live in an unfamiliar building by myself because my globetrotting boyfriend doesn’t care enough to ever be there.” She puffs up her cheeks in a cute way and I playfully squeeze them to force the air out. The bartender comes over and I order a bourbon and a strawberry daiquiri, her favorite. She looks at me with shining eyes, “You remembered.” “Always,” I whisper, handing her the drink as it is delivered. I look over at our table and notice that we haven’t been missed yet so taking a chance I grab her hand and pull her to the dance floor reliving the night of our last game, “Dance with me.” She laughs and follows me happily and I thank god that I can still make her smile. The DJ turns on a sexy country song with good rhythm and my little spider monkey begins moving her body like she doesn’t have a care in the world. It’s been years since I’ve seen her dance and she hasn’t lost a bit of her coordination. She wasn’t a cheerleader for nothing and every sway of her hips reminds me of just how agile she can be. As my body begins to heat up I’m brought back into that eighteen year old body fighting to not show just how much she arouses me. We keep dancing together until suddenly Jai takes me by surprise turning her back to me and rubbing her body against mine, her back to my front, her ass right against my c**k which hardens almost painfully in jeans. Cautiously I put my hands on her hips and move with her to the music in a seductive tryst on the dancefloor completely forgetting everything and everyone else. It’s not until I look up and notice Trumble is glaring murderously in our direction that I stop Jai and whisper in her ear, “I think we made some people mad.” She looks towards our table and gasps before quickly leaving me alone and scrambling towards her boyfriend. I sigh and follow her only to arrive to her explaining that nothing was going on and we were just dancing. I look over to see Kandice glaring at Jai before she suddenly grabs me and pulls me to the dance floor and begins rubbing on me like a cat rubbing on a post. I notice Jai and Trumble dancing not too far away and although she’s involved in the movements his are clearly more of a predatory nature. Watching them I think back to her twenty-first birthday and the best night of my life.
