Mac had given Natalie time to cool off. Then he tried calling. She didn’t answer.
His mother called him into her office and pointed at the chair in front of her. He stared at his phone, willing Natalie to return his call when Gail snapped her fingers. He looked up.
“What did you do, Malcolm?” She spun her computer monitor to face him.
Natalie’s face filled the screen. His mother pressed play.
“Hello, friendly viewers,” Natalie began, looking like Gem. “Many of you have been looking forward to the premier of the reality show I’m in. Well, it aired tonight. If you haven’t already run off to watch, hear me out.”
