Natalie sat in the back of the bar with Jennifer, who was more nervous than when Natalie had forced her into the art class. “What is this again?” she asked. “It’s game night.” In her head, however, Nat thought of it as nerd night. The bar was filled with guys playing tabletop games. Since she wasn’t sure how Jennifer would react to teasing, she opted not to tell her. “Games are set up at tables. You play for thirty minutes or so and then switch.” “Oh, God. So it’s like speed dating.” “No!” Natalie held Jennifer’s shoulders. “No. This is relaxed. You get to meet people.
