Deliberations
Lilli had just passed an intersection featuring a car with a crumpled fender. To one side stood a typically irate asshole male jabbering madly into his phone. Glass had crunched under the wheels of the truck as she went by. She expected this was a sign the chase had been nearing its end here – this was about how far she judged Toni would have needed to catch up to them.
Like Jeri, she had little doubt Toni would reclaim her pet – or get them both killed trying. She was the least surprised woman alive when she heard and then saw the four bikes returning her way. Naturally Boy-toy was safe and sound with his arms around his valiant rescuer. How revoltingly touching.
Contemptuous as she was of both of them, Lilli was glad. Personal interests aside, it was good
