Huge banners for Harley-Davidson and other motor companies gave color to what was essentially a drab industrial space not originally intended for tenancy. The ceiling was high indeed, the immense airiness accentuated by a bank of enormous west-facing windows that brightened the general living area to the left. Stacked stores for the business downstairs created a perimeter within which thick rugs and tumbling mats softened the concrete floor. Secondhand furniture was grouped around top-shelf electronics and cables snaked away toward the corners. There was only the one big bed with a movable three-fold screen for minimal privacy, but also a couple couches, a futon like back at Erica’s and tons of padded floor space.
