I didn’t want to admit it but I needed time. Just a few moments to bottle up the feelings before I moved on. To hide away from this messed up life of mine that cost me all the people I loved again and again. I craved for a world that didn’t know what war was, and one that wouldn’t make me realize how high the price to pick a side is. I dreamed of silence and rest, of the luxury to just stay silently contemplating the sunset, while Mark’s fingers were intertwined with mine. Just to know he was there. But my war was still not over. I had gotten Alex out of the picture, but now I needed to destroy the key. The closer I got to this moment, the harder it was not to think of the possible outcomes. Of what I could actually lose.
