I woke up with a scream, terrified by the new nightmare, and jumped to my feet. The crampy small space of my cell seemed gloom and unwelcoming as usual: metal bars enhanced with some force field yielded with the Lycan’s spoken magic. It was less powerful than the magic of the humans, who got power over the elements and nature itself, which made them so much dangerous. But they needed blood to sustain themselves because of the ancient curse my people put on them. Blood, or souls. Yeah, maybe the unity between our two kinds was inevitable. In a few years, it would hit us hard, and all of us would pay with everything we had for it the sins of our ancestors who made us hate each other.
