Adan took me for a late lunch in the town nearby. It was a luxurious place with golden chandeliers and soft music seeping like a river from the speakers. It was everything I wasn’t used to being and everything that seemed extremely fitting to someone like Theresa. I sat opposite the man I loved and returned his smile, trying to focus on the things he was saying and not simping over how good he looked in a suit.
