Someone had maliciously edited the footage of me confronting Ethan while holding my son, twisting it to make me look like a deranged madwoman.
The endless, vicious insults poured in, targeting both me and my dead, poor Lucas.
Instead of being panicked, I stayed calm and opened the chat window with the investor.
"I need you to look into a top performing arts student. Her name is Amelia Collins. She's the real identity behind that so-called robot. We need emergency PR. We have to turn this around before Ethan gets the chance."
The response came back in a trembling voice. "President Robinson... all the records on this student have been destroyed. We're too late."
That night, Ethan and Amelia went live together in matching outfits. Viewers flooded in, demanding lewd acts. Ethan obliged with a gracious smile. Then he took it further, he illegally revealed my private information online.
Later, in the dead of night, a group of burly men used the passcode known only to Ethan and me to unlock the door. They dragged me from my bed out onto the balcony while I was still half-asleep. They tore off my clothes. When I bit one of them in self-defense, they pulled out every single one of my teeth. I screamed for security. The guards not only arrived late, they unbuckled their belts and joined in, setting up a camera to film my most humiliating moments.
"Damn! Mr. Robinson is insanely generous, he tipped me five million just for one photo!"
"No kidding! I sent Mr. Robinson a close-up, and he transferred eight million straight to my account!"
"Get one of me too. Pose her properly, hurry up!"
The pain consumed me entirely. But through the haze, I caught their whispered words.
"Boss, Mr. Robinson requested to teach that little brat a lesson too. I searched everywhere, but nothing is found."
"Forget it. The b*tch must've hidden the kid somewhere. Let's have our fun first."
So Ethan wanted revenge not just on me, but on my son as well.
I took Ethan to court.
He stood there wearing a malicious smile. Around his wrist was a bracelet. That was a bracelet made from my teeth.
"Your Honor, I admit I am far from perfect. But I cannot endure these baseless attacks. The only crime I've committed is loving my wife and son too much. Yet she spread rumors that I have a sexually transmitted disease. Now she slanders my successful experiment. To be honest, if she hadn't sued me first, I would have sued her second."
In front of the entire courtroom, Ethan produced my private photos.
"Your Honor, these were taken by a private investigator I hired. The person in these photos is my wife. She's been spending my money on other men, cheating on me, and now she won't even let me see my own son."
I stared at those photos, and the horrifying memories crashed back over me. Ethan had altered every image, replacing my expressions of agony with ones of pleasure, sealing the false narrative he'd constructed.
The courtroom erupted. The livestream exploded. People laughed. Some even threw rotten eggs at me.
I wiped the egg from my face. And I stood up, smiling.
"Your Honor, I am not making false accusations against Mr. Robinson regarding his STD or the falsification of his experimental results. I have evidence with me."
"Evidence won't help you anyway, we..." Amelia started mumbling dismissively. Then she saw Ethan's expression. The second half of her sentence died in her throat.
"Sophia! How do you have that?!"
Ethan's face drained of all color.
