Daisy's P. O. V.
Are you a vampire now?? I asked in disbelief as to why he had just nuzzled on my neck and not me I even saw the little drop of blood on his lips before he licked it away.
I didn't get a reply from me instead he just looked at me and smirked. I couldn't put up with his presence after he had just broke me so I passed by him and shockingly he didn't try to stop me and I felt relieved.
I felt so angry with myself and I couldn't stop the tears streaming down my eyes ever since I came here it's been the worst thing that ever happened to me.
The pain was much for my poor heart that I found myself in the girls washroom while I stared at myself in the mirror I looked pale and botchy nothing like the radiant Daisy with a big bright smile.
My hair was dishelved from all the stress and my face carried the traces of dried tears my eyes looked swollen in short I looked like a mess.
Daisy Dee, I heard Vannah's familiar voice are you there her footsteps appeared to be pacing around before she could walk further I opened the washroom.
Her face also looked tired she appeared to be worried where were you Daisy I was only gone for like three minutes then I came back and you've like disappeared. She continued to rant but she paused when she noticed how withdrawn I looked.
Daisy what's wrong with you. You look sick are you fine she was already crying by now on my behalf and the tears was restraining her voice.
Vannah I called trying to calm her down ple_please don't cry beca_because of me I'm o_okay.
She held up her palm Daisy please don't you dare lie to me you were not fine a few minutes ago but now you look worse tell me what the f**k happened.
Vannah I....... I tried to speak but my voice wouldn't come out I ended up crying the more and threw myself in her waiting arms.
Dee, it's alright she tried to assure me running her hands on my hair before she abruptly stopped pulling me out of her embrace.
Her eyes were bloodshot red laced with fury and I was scared.
Vannah wh_what??? She was beginning to scare me with that look in her eyes.
Your neck she crooked who bit it. She pushed my hair aside trying to get a clearer view.
It's nothing. I mean.... Ohh yeah some ins_insect cra_crawled up on me and it st_stinged me.
You are Lying. The sentence landed heavy straight into my guts it is a f*****g teeth mark insects don't have teeth do they.
It was my turn to gasp I slowly walked to the mirror pulled my hair aside and looked into my neck through the mirror to get a clearer view while Vannah stood at Akimbo behind me.
Her eyes wanted an explanation and I decided to come clean.
My voice started off as shaky wh_when you wer_were gone Alec he..... Hee
That Beast he did this chopped off the skin of your neck like some animal in heart seriously her voice carried more anger this time and I could only nod because her words were true.
It's going to turn into a hickey she said shocked again.
I was innocent but I knew what an Hickey meant I had read about it in books the Bastard left his mark on my skin forcefully I'm never forgiving him for this.
I wailed like a baby in distress as I sat down on the watery washroom floor not caring about the mess it was going to create on my clothes.
Daisy we need to report Alec to the principal he's getting braver what if next time it's worse.
As much as I wanted to report him to the principal I witnessed what happened at the cafeteria how he and Golden Blondy turned things around into their favor, how no student dared talk or disobey him it all seemed like he had some power or authority above them all.
Who will they beli_believe Van_Vannah some rich kid or the new girl.
She seemed to reason my words and for a moment she kept her mouth shut her lips sealed tightly we need evidence she finally said.
Evidence I repeated nodding along with her words if we do that He won't be able to hide his true colors will be revealed for all to see.
If The Evidences don't work then we report to the police find witnesses do something all I know is that I can't sit here and see my friend break, be traumatized because of a maniac rich boy that's bullying her to please her ego.
She was right about that and Vannah she looked determined more than I had ever since her and I didn't know if I should be scared of her.
Classes thinking about that I was too weak I didn't want to attend any classes till the end of today I just want to be with Vannah and then go home to the comfort of my family.
I The girl who rarely missed classes but ever since I came to this school I've missed more classes than I ever would.
We don't have to go to classes till the end of today perhaps tomorrow.
And I was shocked how had she known what I was thinking. Though I said nothing.
I just want to stay here till the end of today away from the teachers, the prying eyes of students and the judging glanced everywhere.
Daisy let's go. Vannah she tried pulling me along with her but I refused to be pulled sitting there stubbornly.
No I don't w_want to go to cl_class. I shook my head still on the ground.
I know and we're not going to classes I know somewhere safe where no one rarely goes we'll just go there and sit there it's safer than being in the washroom anyone could come over there your moment of peace wouldn't be interrupted.
I trusted her intentions and technically she was right so I stood up the water already seeped into my outfit and a wet patch already formed on the area.
Side by side with she leading the way we went together until we reached a place that was less crowded more peaceful I could only hear the hums of birds and it made me appreciate nature.
Vannah opened the Door it was huge and brown and she went in first the windows were locked and the best thing about the windows was that we could see the people from outside but no one could see us inside I was quite surprised when Vannah told me and I doubted.
But she told me she already tested the theory so I believed her the room was empty and it looked dusty due to being unused a broom was lying nearby and she dusted the place while covering her nose.
You know she began I stood at a corner observing the way she moved I cleaned it while I was here earlier but I guessed it accumulated more dust.
I nodded my head due to the fact it was true after she dusted we sat in the plastic chair before Vannah stood up and went behind a cupboard and brought out a bunch of painting equipments.
You pa_paint?? My tone clearly gave me away because I was shocked.
Yeah there are still lots of things you don't know about me. actually I pain to very well but I'll let you br the judge of that she winked and she smiled.
She was right I had only known her for about I think three days.
Her hands were occupied with Brushes, pallets and sketch pads and she carefully dropped each material on the table and it looked like she did this regularly.
She took her seat in front of the table and she tied her fiery red hair into a messy bun with a strand of her hair to act as a band.
Soon enough she began working and streaks of paint decorated her lean fingers. I dragged my chair positioning in it in the right place to sed how she worked.
"W_What are you wor_working on this time?? I finally asked
Savannah smiled without looking away from the canvas. "A sunset over the lake."
I never imagined you were a painter yon know I didn't expect that. I voiced it out.
Yeah she replied Hands working swiftly people rarely believe I paint when I tell that but family, close friends they know how much I like to paint and how much more I prefer painting to sleep.
When did you start to paint??
I was around Nine by that time my first inspiration was the Beach during summer vacations the Beauty of the sea was undeniable and the waves how it roared.
Wow. My voice was filled with astonishment. I love the Beach too.
That we have in common I nodded at her words and she smiled softly all along working on her piece.
When I told my father about my dreams of wanting to paint someday. You know what he said she paused i shook my head he told me to get lost to do something else that painting was a worthless s**t that night I cried myself to Bed.
How could her Dad be so cruel and unsupportive of his daughters dreams. She continued other times I tried to bring the matter up during dinner he became angry sent me to my room to sleep and that night I slept without food.
Wit_Without Food at such a ten_tender age it's wicke_wickedness I choked out.
Wickedness she repeated tasting the world the exact word associated with Carlos Reed.
He thought he killed my dreams but I didn't not the power too I took a per time job saved every penny and when. I purchased my paintings equipments I felt an unexplainable joy warmth filled my heart.
I could picture it mentally in my head Young Vannah with a Box of painting equipments with a proud smile telling herself she had done it.
What a_about your mom?? What did she do yon no her contri_contributions to your dream.
She shook her head eyes sad and almost teary That one, she basically lived in my father's shadows followed his every rule of father said no it meant No then the conversation was over.
Your mom too. What about now have they find out.
No they haven't and can never find out only my male cousin no he was my closet confidant during childhood. Enough of them she said and I nodded in understanding.
I tilted my head as i studied the painting Vannah was working on. The sky was already filled with shades of orange, pink, and purple. "How do you even do that? It looks so real."
"It's all about layers," Savannah explained, dipping her brush into orange paint. "You start with the larger colors first, then slowly add details."
Daisy watched as Savannah blended the orange into the pink. "That sounds complicated."
"It seemed impossible when I started too," Savannah admitted. "My first paintings looked terrible."
Daisy laughed. "I don't believe that."
"I'm serious. I once painted a tree that looked like a giant broccoli."
That earned a louder laugh from Daisy.
"See?" Savannah said, grinning. "Nobody starts out amazing."
"So what made you keep going?"
Savannah paused, considering the question. "Painting helps me relax. Whenever I'm stressed or upset, I just paint. It's like putting my thoughts onto the canvas."
Daisy's smile softened. "That's actually kind of beautiful."
Savannah shrugged shyly. "Maybe."
Daisy looked at the nearly finished sunset. "Well, whatever you're doing, it's working. This painting is gorgeous."
A blush crept onto Savannah's cheeks.
"Thanks, Daisy."
"Just prom_Promise me one th_thing." I demanded
"What?"She looked confused
"When you're a famous artist someday, don't forget your friend."
Savannah laughed and nudged her shoulder.
"Deal."
