“Dan is my…” Tears began to form in her beautiful eyes, causing them to glisten. “My husband.” She continued. f**k, she’s married. My body slumped back into the chair as I stared at her intensely. My mate is with someone else.
“Husband?” I questioned as I felt a new raw emotion side swipe me.
“Yes, technically we are still husband and wife, although, I’ve left him.” Her body shuddered, noticeably repulsed by the fact that they were legally connected.
Humans were such a complicated breed. Their laws were corrupt, as were most who were in power. The laws regarding marriage were no different. Long-winded and f****d up. Divorcing this bastard would be difficult.
