Unbreakable Bond

Chapter 1

"Hello Mrs. Collins" he said with a smile. Aria just stared at him.

"I know this was last minute but it is important information I have about Paige. I was told to contact you, should anything happen to her". He paused to see if she understood. 

She nodded her head for him to continue.

 "She has been missing for 3 years and it is time for you to step in. Are you prepared to leave right now or in an hour?" 

Aria was shocked, speechless and confused. Her sister was missing and for 3 years.

 "Mrs. Collins-" he started but was cut off when Aria said, "I heard you", she snapped. He was about to begin again when she put her hand up. 

" Who exactly are you and how do you know Paige? How did you find me?" she asked. 

"My name is Darren Smith, I work with Paige. Paige gave me all the information I needed to find you if something ever happened to her. She has been taken and we need your help to find her". He said.

 "Yeah I got that part but what I'm not understanding is why you think I can help you. How did my sister go missing? What exactly do you know about her, about me? What did you have her doing? It's been three years why did you come now after all this time?" she bombarded him with question after question. Then said, " I haven't talked to my sister in almost five years because of her job and I suggest you call the authorities to find her". 

She was rising from the table when he grabbed her arm to stop her, saying "Mrs. Collins please". With begging eyes she knew it must have been more to the story so she sat back down. 

"I understand you are frightened but Paige told us you could help". 

Aria went to speak and it was now his turn to stop her so he can finish.

 "I am not sure how you can help but Paige knew you could. We thought we would have found her by now or she would have turned up but we kept getting nothing. This has gotten out of our control and we need your special talents to find her". he finished.

"Special talents?" Aria asked, looking at him as if she did not know what he was speaking of, while playing with the mace in her pocket the entire time. she would do what she had to do. 

"We know you are gifted." He said knowing she knew what he was speaking of. 

"It seems it has gotten out of your control and there is nothing I can do." As she went to get up from the table, he grabbed her arm again to stop her but this time she gave him a look that made him let her go.

 "Mrs. Collins please,we need to go now. I have everything back at my hotel to answer any of your questions. There are others who are after you and want Paige as a weapon. They have been watching you and your family for days now and I heard them saying they were going to take you at midnight". 

At that moment Aria's phone began to ring. She looked at her phone and did not recognize the number. She sat back down, didn't answer and said, "Look Mr. Smith, I haven't spoken to my sister for almost 5 years now. She was in Mexico then; we talked for two minutes. She is always undercover somewhere or finding herself in situations she does not belong I cannot-" she was cut off by her phone ringing again. Same number, who is this she thought, so she answered this time.

 "Who is this and why are you calling me at this time of night?" She yelled into the phone. 

UNKNOWN: We know you are talking to Darren in that diner on 5th. Leave now or your beautiful baby girl will be coming with us". The icy woman voice said.

"Do not touch my child. I will kill you." Aria replied. 

"I don't take kind to threat Aria. Now leave or we'll take them both", the phone went dead. 

"Who was-" Darren started. "I have to go."

As Aria was running to her car, Darren was right behind her and getting into her car.

 "What the hell are you doing?" she turned and asked Darren as she started the car. 

"I'm going with you. You are going to need me. WE need each other. I know the woman you were speaking to. She's part of the society to kill or abuse mutants. We believe they took Paige and we need your gifts to be sure", he stated.

 "My gifts? Stop talking I need to focus on my family". Aria pulled up outside her neighbors house that was three houses down from her own. She looked around and said "Don't freak out ok and be on the look out for anyone or anything". 

He just nodded. 

Aria's eyes began to cloud over in an indigo color. She was focusing on her home and could see everything inside it but there was nothing happening. Her babies were asleep and her husband, her sweet manly husband was sitting in the kitchen with a glass of water waiting for her no doubt. Too bad she wasn't coming back and knew this was going to hurt him. She had to protect her family and find out what was going on with Paige. 

She moved from her house then to the others houses near hers, nothing. Everyone was asleep. So she darted her eyes across the street and again nothing. Went down a mile away from her house and there was a cat. It was a cute cat and looked so familiar. She was sure she never seen this cat a day in her life but was drawn to it somehow. The cat was all white with light reddish brown stripes but had a black heart shaped nose. She was so focused on the details and trying to remember where she seen the cat that she missed when the cat was watching her too. It wasn't until it started to run towards her that her eyes returned to their natural color of hazel with greenish blue iris around the pupil. 

"We have to go", she said as she started the car and headed onto the street. 

"Where is your hotel Mr. Smith?" She asked. 

"It's on H and 11th Avenue". He replied nervously.

Aria was tying a knot on both her shoe laces once she came to a red light and started saying the cloaking spell her grandmother taught her when she was a child. One for her family and one for them.

As they were walking into to Darren's room she saw a glimpse of Paige tied up somewhere she'd never been. Aria shook her head and walked inside. There were pictures and documents about her, Paige and her family scattered all over the room. 

"Excuse the mess" he said. 

"Darren Smith get all you things together we don't have enough time. They'll be here within a couple of minutes", she told him. 

He stared at her, how did she know that.

 "Now Darren!", she yelled.  

He jumped and started grabbing everything. 

"Where are-" he was cut off by a knock on the door. 

"Housekeeping", the person from the other side said. 

Aria began to walk to the door then stopped immediately. 

She turned to Darren and whispered asking "Do you have everything?" He just nodded his head and she took his hand then walked through the wall to the next room and out the door. 

As they were coming out of the room next door she saw a lady in all red. Red bodysuit and red boots with long black hair that stopped just above her waist. The lady turned into the cat, the same cat she just saw back at her house. She stopped walking to see what the cat was about to do. The cat walked right through the wall like she had just done a minute ago. Something told her she knew the cat but didn't understand how. Darren pulled her and they walked towards the stairs to leave the hotel behind.
