Chapter Forty-Nine

Sophia: I woke up early the following day. The sounds of the city kept waking me. It was far different from the sleepy little town I had grown up in, where the only sounds outside came from the trees whispering goodnight. I decided to explore. I decided caffeine felt far more critical than my depression or fears about what may lay outside my front door. After only twenty minutes of being outside of my apartment, the thought of going onto campus and digging my fingers into any of the musical opportunities they offered was strangling.
