I am half way through my first daiquiri when I realise that not many people come down here to the bar. There are a rare number of people who come through from the dancefloor for another drink before vanishing back to the dancefloor. There are more people seated at their tables and are served their drinks by a waiter or waitress. Brooke and Ethan come around twice but other than that, it’s just me. I am glad for their disappearance because I don’t think I’ll be able to sit around with them and try to make polite conversation. Brooke doesn’t have much to say on a normal day, I can only imagine her awkward conversation skills when her boyfriend is around.
The bartender with light brown eyes and blonde hair does his best to keep me company when he can and he isn’t busy mixing drinks. It’s safe to say that he only pops around one every fifteen minutes and it’s a boring wait. In the middle of scanning my surroundings, I feel a body press against my back. I am about to turn around and give the person a lecture on personal space, when a hand comes around and moves my hair off my shoulder. A familiar ring comes into view before the person’s lips meet the shell of my ear.
“Are you following me?” Lucas whispers in my ear and a shiver runs down my spine. “Or are you here to cash in on that favour?” He moves his lips from my ear to my exposed neck and he places a soft kiss against my skin, the hairs at the back of my neck stand up right and I feel the goosebumps begin to rise against my skin.
I push him off me as I spin around in my barstool and my eyes meet his hazel brown orbs. His hair is pulled back as usual and he looks incredibly divine in his black dress pants and a button up crisp white shirt. The two buttons at the top are open and his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows. He is so close to me that I can smell the cinnamon and mint scent coming from him. He pushes my legs over to the side before taking a step forward and getting closer than he possibly can, does he not know what person space is? I don’t miss the way his fingertips linger on my exposed thigh or the way a rush of electricity pulsates through my entire body. “Personal space is a thing you know?”
“Not when it comes to you.” He leans in and whispers in my ear. His fingers move from my exposed skin but the rush from his touch is still very much there. “Are you waiting for someone?” His eyes scan the surroundings for a second before his eyes meet mine again.
“Yeah, for you to leave.” I yell over the music and he throws me a blank look. “Or should I call the owner and tell him that there is a creep harassing me at the bar?” He gives me a smirk and I can’t help but think about how gorgeous he is. He probably has women falling to their knees on a daily basis for him. I begin to tell myself that I don’t want to be one of those women. However, my brain says one thing and then he touches me and my body says another thing.
“A creep?” He chuckles over the pumping music and I roll my eyes. “I think you should call him.” He suggests.
“Clay.” I call out for the friendly bartender and he is there within seconds. “Please can you get me your boss?” I offer him a smile but he just gives me an awkward one in return, as his eyes drift from Lucas to me.
“You are his boss?” Realisation begins to sink in as I put the pieces together. Lucas takes in my embarrassment and dismisses Clay with a simple look.
“Let’s step into my office.” He doesn’t ask, he commands and expects things to be done. I chose in that exact moment to stand my ground.
“No.” I look away from him as I begin to down my now watered down daiquiri. His amused expression falls to the floor when he realises that I am not the kind of woman who is going to fall under his charms. “I’m not going anywhere with you. I know what you want from me and I have already told you that it’s not going to happen.” I dismiss him with the wave of my hand but he chooses to take a step closer to me instead of leaving.
“That’s what you say, but every time I touch you.” He pauses for a second and makes a point of running his knuckles along my arm. Even though it’s covered by the lace from my dress, I can still tell that there are goosebumps under the fabric. “Your body says something else and I see it in your eyes.” He pulls away from me before thrusting his hand out for me to take.
"I'm going to regret this." I say as I stand to my feet and grab my purse. He takes my hand in his and his touch has my knees shaking as he wraps his hand around mine and leads me away from the bar. My drink is abandoned and the only thing on my mind right now is how much of a weak person I am. I look up to see if Drake can help me snap out of this daze, but Zak, Chris and him seem preoccupied by two other woman and a bottle of vodka.
He leads me down the hall to a door which has a massive guy dressed in black standing outside the door. He sees us come through and vanishes a little down the hall, not before opening the door for us. I walk in first and take in the room, it's just a normal room with a desk and a chair and a couch that's pushed against the wall. The thoughts that invade my mind as to what's going to happen in this room are not clean as Lucas shuts the door behind him. "I'm not going to have s*x with you." I blurt out and spin around to face him.
He's already in front of me and he reaches out to grab my purse and he throws it onto the desk. "Give me some credit here Madison." He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear as he takes a step closer and presses his solid body to mine. "I would never ask that of you. I'd take you out on a date first, get to know you better then by the end of the night if you wanted to. I'm not some sort of rapist." His eyes drift from mine to my lips and this waiting game is killing me.
"Are you going to kiss me or not?" I whisper and our lips are inches apart. The music can still be heard but it's not that pounding sound that can be heard when the door is open.
"Only if you want me to." His eyes move back to mine and the lust is evident in them.
"You didn't give me that choice last night." I say and he lets out a soft laugh. It's like nothing I've ever heard before, this man is handsome and intriguing.
"You're right. I didn't." Just like that, before either of us can say another word, his lips are on mine. The kiss is like something I've never experienced before and I've kissed plenty. He's in charge and it's evident when his lips brush against mine in the most sensual way possible.
I moan against his lips as his tongue invades my mouth. My hands drift to his body and every single inch of him is solid, his hands move to my waist before he pushes me back and takes another step forward. My back meets the end of his desk and his hands drift from my waist to my hips. They move from my hips to my thighs and he bends down before gripping my skin and lifting me off the ground and onto his desk. He steps into the space between my legs and his fingers linger on my thighs without breaking the kiss. He pulls away from my mouth as I gasp for air and his mouth moves to my neck. I throw my head back and grip his shoulders as he finds my sweet spot. His teeth latch against my sensitive skin as he begins to suck on the spot. His mouth is rough against my skin and I am lost in a world of pleasure, my moans mix with the soft sounds of the music and his hand moves to my neck.
He pulls away from my skin and his eyes meet mine. "You're f*****g beautiful." He whispers before his mouth covers mine once again and the dull sting on my neck is forgotten about as his lips brush against mine once again.
"Luke." The door is pushed open and a women steps in as Lucas pulls away from me immediately. He turns around to meet the woman and her eyes are on me. She has raven black hair and piercing brown eyes, which are filled with rage. "We're waiting for you." She snaps and I shove him off me before getting off his desk.
"Madison, this is Kirsten. Kirsten this is Madison." Is he seriously going to introduce me to his girlfriend right now? I grab my purse and I duck my head as I walk to the door. "Madison." He calls out for me but I ignore him and walk out the door. "For f**k sakes." He snaps, but I'm already down the hallway.
I send a quick text to Drake saying that I took an Uber home because I wasn't feeling well and I escape through the double doors we came in through. I see Lucas escape his office and head down the hall to the dance floor but I duck out the back, not before Kirsten's eyes meet mine. The Uber ride home was silent and filled with guilt. What the hell is wrong with me? How can I be so stupid to think that Lucas Parker was interested in me? Of course he has a girlfriend, why didn't I think of that before I accepted his offer to go with him to his office.
I find myself in my bathroom changing into my pyjamas when I get home and as I'm removing my makeup with a wipe, I catch a glimpse of the purple bruise on my neck for the first time. My eyes widen in shock as my fingers graze the bruise and a shock of pain floods through me. I can't even look at that bruise that Lucas left on my neck without thinking about the feel of his lips on my skin and every time I think of that moment, guilt floods through my mind. I hear Brooke and Drake's voice come through from the living room and a second later there is a knock on my door. I don't answer because Drake will probably think I'm asleep and leave. I wash my face and everything is silent by the time I'm done. They probably retired to their room and Drake is probably too drunk to even stand up straight. It's not like them to leave the club later than one in the morning, but it's also not like them to come home earlier than that. That means Drake is smashed and all he wants right now is his bed.
When I step out into my bedroom a soft yelp escapes my lips and the shock is visible on my face. Lucas Parker stands there in all his gorgeous glory, against my desk with his hands in the pockets of his pants. His eyes are on me and they are filled with surprise and a hint of something else that I can't quite put my finger on. I suddenly feel exposed with my sleeping shorts on that are slightly too short. "What are you doing here?" I whisper, because these walls have ears but I'm sure both Drake and Brooke know that he's here. He probably came with them.
"You left and I wanted to know why." He says, he doesn't move an inch and neither do I. He just stands there and waits for my answer.
"Because your girlfriend saw you and I making out on your desk." I snap and he stands up straight.
"Girlfriend? What girlfriend?" He asks with accusation in his tone. "Are you talking about Kirsten?"
"Yes, your girlfriend." I cross my arms against my chest and give him a look.
"No, Kirsten isn't my girlfriend." He strides over to me and I take a step back. "She's your friend Jamie's girlfriend. She's my friend." Did he just say that Kirsten and Jamie are dating? Wow, I really don't know that much about Jamie Black.
"Oh." I feel like a complete i***t now.
"Yeah, oh." He's in front of me now and I am finding it hard to breathe properly. "Believe me, if I had a girlfriend you wouldn't have been all over my desk like that." He sends chills down my spine as he runs his fingers over my arm and I pull away.
"That was a mistake." I take a step back and he frowns.
"Yes, you leaving like that was a mistake." He says with a charming smile.
“No, you and I and what ever we did in your office was a mistake. It won't happen again." As soon as the words leave my lips I regret them. A part of me does want Lucas Parker and the longer I deny it the stronger my desire will grow for him.
"I want you. In every way possible. I can't seem to get you off my mind and every time you reject me the more I want you." His words pierce right through me and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels that way.
"Well it's never going to happen." I say through gritted teeth and he gives me a knee shaking smile as he grips my wrist and pulls me towards him.
"Oh I think it's going to happen." He pushes my hair to the side and leans down to kiss me. However, his lips move to the spot on my neck where he left a bruise earlier on. He places a soft kiss on the spot before his lips shift to meet mine. He pulls back after a few seconds and offers me a smile. "Something to remember me by.” My heart is hammering against my ribcage when he gives me an intense look. "I'll see you around Madison Evans and the next time I do, try not to run off." He's out the door within seconds and I'm left standing in the middle of my room thinking what the actual hell have I got myself into with Lucas Parker?
