Chapter twelve - A start

Eddy's p.o.v

The moment I stepped inside Lisa's house I felt warmer, the place wasn't much to be termed as comfy but her presence made it all comfortable.

I sat on the coach which was much worn out but still strong, I searched through my mind for something to say but I came out blank.

I looked at Lisa and saw that she was still wearing the shirt I gave her earlier morning only she had changed into grey tyra shorts and her thighs were bear.

I could see her shy off from my stare.

"hey Lisa I went at your working place and Elvy told me that you left work early "

" yes Eddy, I wasn't feeling so well"

"but are you okay now? I mean have you sought any medication? "

" thank you for the concern, I'll be alright "

" alright Lisa then you shouldn't be walking around, sit here"

"am alright Eddy "

" no Lisa, with your permission please allow me make use of your kitchen. Have you eaten?"

That scared me so much, I couldn't believe I offered to make her supper, this was way out of my type, if I could remember well I had been in the kitchen maybe twice in my life, I had no slightest idea of what went on in the kitchen, in my home that was the work of the house helps.

Damn

This could turn out to be embarrassing I had to think of a plan B I was so good in that.

"Hey Lisa how about we order some pizza?"

"I don't know, moreover am not that hungry anyway"

"Hey don't be shy its okay you can just say what you want to eat."

"I know my kichen is not in a good shape..."

Her voice trailed off as I saw a flick of embarrassment on her face, she was looking down to her fingers on her lap, I felt guilty that she had to feel bad just because of my presence in her house and so I just looked for something that came to my mind to make her feel better.

"Actually you don't have to feel bad about your kitchen, the truth is even in a posh-like kitchen am not functional"

"Huh! You mean you don't know how to cook?"

"Am afraid yes"

"What about back at your place? You mean you don't cook at all?

"Actually I just moved in to that place and you were the first person that checked in,"

I didn't know why I had to mention that but somehow indirectly I wanted to make it clear to her that she was special even though her coming to my house was accidental, I still found myself fathoming the idea.

"Anyway sooner or later I'll have to start cooking at my place"

"Hmm I can't imagine eating your food, if you've only been in a kitchen twice in your whole life."

I tried to fein embarrassment but it ended up turning into a blush, this wasnt so like me at all, but I was just happy to the fact that we could make a conversation going and were comfortable with each other, I ringed the pizza place and ordered two.

"You must be thinking that am a spoilt brat"

She was looking down and so I couldn't read the expression on her face.

"But you are spoilt that's a fact"

"About that incident outside the supermarket am really sorry but you know something I was really impressed to the fact that you are a girl but were able to stand against a guy like me, am really sorry about that it was my fault."

She was surprised but just mumbled an okay, I would have loved it more if she had said more but I couldn't complain.

"Can we be friends then, now that we've settled that little misunderstanding?"

"I don't know, I don't want any trouble with anyone I've been okay with just Elvy as my only friend, the smaller the friendship circle the safer iam from all the drama"

"Why? Did something happen?"

"Just had trouble with your girl and her friends earlier at the restaurant"

Claudia! I can't believe she went to harass Lisa at her working place, she's gonna get it from me.

"What did Claudia do?"

"Never mind just got into some little trouble because of them but I can handle it, I'd prefer if you stopped seeing me to avoid all the drama, but before that I'd like to ask for some help from you"

"Yeah sure anything"

"Its about Del, my friend Elvy is so into him and I would appreciate it if you would put a good word out for her, I would be glad if she ended up happy with the person she loves"

That wasn't something new, I had noticed that Lisa's friend was intrested in Del , but the problem was I knew Del very well he was just flirting around with her, he was my friend and my accomplice in every little dirty game that we played around.

The only good word I could put out for the girl was for Del to leave her alone, I didn't Want anything to ruin the progress I was making with Lisa but even so I just had to reassure Lisa that I would do her the favour.

As for that part of her refusing my offer to be her friend I blamed it on Claudia and ofcourse I knew Melissa was part of this, Del had mentioned it to me earlier but I hadn't taken it seriously.

"Hey how about that pizza, I think am now hungry"

"Patient miss..." I found myself smiling at her.

She was somehow charming unknowingly to her and even though this was against my usual way of doing somehow I felt warmer here, the place had no description, in a different case and person I would say it was just pathetic but as long as it was Lisa's I was good.

If only my mom had an idea of where I was right now, she would do the oh-my-god-son-what's-wrong-with-you act of hers, I was so used to her dramatic acts when it involved her only son but that was to the least of my worries right now.

If only I could make her agree to my friendship offer then it would be a plus to me.

"So Lisa, tell me about yourself"

"Actually there's nothing to tell what you see, is what is there"

"No way, I'm sure there's alot to tell behind that pretty brain, you just don't wanna talk"

"Maybe"

She shrugged and took the remote and started flipping through the channels and that only meant one thing she still didn't trust me to tell me anything about her.

There was a knock on the door since I had noticed there was no doorbell,

"That must be the pizza man, I'll go check"

She stood to go but I stopped her.

"No allow me"

I went to the door and paid off the pizza guy before coming back with the pizza.

"Here is the money for the pizza"

"No Lisa its okay, just take it as a way of apologizing for whatever it is Claudia did to you"

She reluctantly accepted as she put the money back in her pocket,

"Alright if you insist Mr"

"Yes I do miss"

We both smiled and started chewing on our pizza silently, there was an action movie on one of the channel stations and Lisa seemed so interested and that gave me an idea on my next move.

We ate in silence as I would give lisa a glance once in between the movie, my phone vibrated and I had this annoyance already knowing who it was. I checked my phone and saw it was a message from Claudia.

CLAUDIA: "Hey love, where are you, I was at your house and your mom told me you went out earlier and aren't back yet"

EDDY: "am at Del's place"

CLAUDIA: "okay I'm coming there"

EDDY: "no Claudia I'll give you a call tomorrow in the morning, goodnight"

CLAUDIA: "okay I love you"

I did not respond to her last text and just put my phone back.

I checked my time and I had spent 2 hours with Lisa.

We continued watching untill at the end of the movie I lost track and dozed off.
