CHAPTER 8: Welcome Back?

~Tamara's P.O.V.~

"Mommy?Where are we going?"Zoya asked as I fixed her hair into a cute ponytail. I just finished packing and was now dressing the twins up after a quick shower,Zane was running around the room,playing but stopped when Zoya asked the question,curiosity in his eyes. I took a deep breath.

"We're going to see your father,sweetie." I said and waited for their reaction. I expected shock but I didn't expect squels and excitement from them. I let out a sigh of relief,they're just so innocent. Zane ran and jumped in my bed where I was fixing Zoya's hair.

"Mommy what does daddy look like?Does he shift like we do?"He asked,excitement in his voice. I laughed.

"Well,your dad looks like you only he has fiery red hair like Zoya's and yes he shifts just like we do."I said smiling as his eyes widened in fascination.

"Mommy,Auntie Moona taught me about mates and how much they love each other. She said that daddy is your mate. Do you love daddy?Why did he leave?"She asked while playing with her cute nails. Sometimes I hate it when my children are so damn smart 'cause how am I suppose to answer that question.

"Sweetie,daddy did not leave,he's just......busy with his Alpha work. Do you know what an a

Alpha is?"They shook their head,I continued"Well an Alpha is the king of a pack,he takes care of many things thats why he can't visit us. Mommy loves daddy very much even if he's not here with us."I said/explained.

"Cooool..."They both said.

"Now go and say bye to auntie Saffy,we're leaving in 10 min." I said before they can ask more questions.

They ran out and I double checked our luggage before dragging them downstairs and into the car. I locked the door and turned around just in time to see my children walking hand in hand with Safira. After a lot of kisses and goodbyes from Safira with the twins,we finally set off.

5 1/2 hours later

I stopped and turned the engine off. We're in front of the pack house but it sure did change a lot,it's more bigger and beautiful than before. I turned to the twins who was sleeping and was about to wake them up when I smelled the most horrible scent that sent my wolf growling,rogues. I quickly woke up the twins. Zane opened his eyes and looked around and Zoya did the same.

"Zane,Zoya,listen very carefully,whatever happens do not leave the car but be on full alert for baddies ok? Remember the baddies? "They nodded"Mommy will be right back."I said and unbuckled my seatbelt. I opened the door and the scent of rouges got stronger then my wolf hearing caught the sounds of growls and barks. I ran to the sounds and was brought to a wide clearing where a battle between my pack and rouges are taking place. My eyes caught a beautiful,big black wolf,Alex. He was fighting three rouges at the same time,he killed one but was bitten in the leg by the other rouge. Lyra growled and I felt my blood boiling in anger at the rouge who bit my mate. I shifted and charged at the rogue,I quickly bit down to its neck before snapping it's head out of it's body.

"Tamara?"I turned around and the black wolf was staring at me with his sky blue eyes. It contained surprise and........happiness?

"Hi Alex."I mindlinked back before dodging another rogue who jumped at me. I raised my paw and slashed him by the stomach before biting down hard and snapping the living soul out of it. After a couple of minutes,the battle was over,dead rogues are scattered everywhere.

I shifted(with my clothes on) back only to be engulfed in a hug,it sent sparks all over my body,Alex. I hugged back enjoying the moment but we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. A guy with a black hair and grey eyes was standing there. Alex turned to him but his arms were still around me.

"Did we kill them all?" Alex asked the guy.

"Few escaped but they're wounded so they won't be able to go that far."the guy said. He must be the Beta.

"Hunt them down and kill them,which direction did they take?"Alex asked again.

"Along the pack house."He said,I froze. The pack house? I let go of Alex and ran to the pack house.

Zoya was in her wolf form when I arrived. She was whimpering and pushing a dead rogue,she looked up when she smelled me. I kicked the rogue out of the way and found Zane under it and thank goodness he's okay,just a little scratch.

Zane shifted and got up before jumping on me for a hug, Zoya joined after shifting as well. Just then I heard a growl behind us. Zoya and Zane whimpered and stayed behind me. The wolves in front of us was clearly from my pack but they weren't growling at me, they were growling at my children. For a moment I was taken aback but after a while, I shifted and growled at them as I hovered at my children protectively like a mother wolf should.

Suddenly, everyone stopped growling and bowed down in resignation as Alex appeared in his human form, he looked at me, shock was evident in his face but he managed to hide it immediately and motioned me to follow him. I ignored him and continued growling at the rest of the pack. Alex dismissed them and the pack left reluctantly. I relaxed and shifted back to human form before following Alex.
