CHAPTER 6: Waiting

~Alex's P.O.V.~

She left......my mate left.

It's been 5 years since she left and I blamed myself every single day. She must have been hurt that I rejected her. I hated myself for not fighting for her even if I have to give up being Alpha if that's what it takes,I just wanna hold her in my arms again and never let go. But was that it? I should have fought for her? No. The pack would have had no choice but to accept her if I said so but I was too muddle headed to even think about it before, only thinking of my reputation. It's pathetic.

After she left,I was devastated. I started drinking and almost cried every night. Sometimes I would find myself in her room sitting in her bed where we made love that night. That's how I lived my life for 9 months after she left. Then my father came and talked to me. My whole world lit up when I heard that she did not leave the pack completely,she was just travelling around and someday,she'll be sure to come back.

Things pretty much went back to normal for me since I heard she's going to come back. I became Alpha after my father stepped down. The pack improved much better and we became the most strongest and richest pack among all of the packs. My father was so proud of me but I owe it all to Tamara,she was my inspiration and the only reason that I could only focus on work. I even built a house near the pack house where I live now but I moved her room upstairs near my bedroom. It was bound to happen anyway 'cause we renovized and enlarged the pack house meaning her old room was gone. I just can't wait for her to come back.

The door flew open with a bang,bringing me back from my reverie.

"Alpha,we recieved a notice that a group of rogues are headed this way. It seems like they're growing stronger and stronger."Jonas,my beta,said as he came in.

"Not strong enough. When are they going to attack?"I asked as I returned the framed picture of Tamara, which I took from her room after the night we made love,in my desk.

"In a week or so."he answered.

"Double the patrol and advice the pack to be on high alert all the time."

"Yes Alpha." He said and left.

I rubbed my temple,this rogues are always causing trouble. Lately, they kept attacking packs around the state. It was like a suicide mission for them since most of the casualties are given to them.
