I stood in front of a white curtain that would soon open; it was the most surreal moment of my life, but I had already been through many such moments before. I knew it was nothing I couldn't handle, yet my hands trembled, and I kept pacing back and forth like a caged animal because it was my wedding day. After a few months of planning, some misunderstandings, and hospital visits, we would finally get married, although this time not out of obligation, but simply out of the desire to be together.
