What happened?

When Jordan was 10 years old she was playing in the backyard of her home in Carolina with her big brother, Jacob, who was 13 at the time. Their parents, Payton Chance & Isabella Chance, were inside making dinner. They heard a strange alarm that they've never heard before but the way their parents ran out of the house to get them must have meant it was serious. Oliver was at a friend's house playing the Xbox when they heard the alarm, he was staying for the weekend. When Isabella called to check on him nobody answered & she began to worry. Telling her husband and two oldest children to stay put and that she'd be right back, she ran from the house down the street where she didn't make it past the front door when she was knocked back out by a wolf in his full form. Mr. Chance ran after her slamming and locking the door behind him leaving Jordan and Jacob terrified where they stand. They had no clue what was happening but seeing her mother laying there, bleeding after being thrown from the house down the street made them scream and cry. Mr. Chance came back, bloody with their mother and little brother in his arms. Jacob couldn't move but Jordan ran to her father's side right before he told her to back away, he was snatched from behind & in that moment Isabella and Oliver were thrown across the room, their lifeless bodies they still. A few seconds after being pulled out of the front door, Mr. Chance yelled for the kids to run, and to run far away before they got hurt. They could tell by the scent of the wolf that they weren't rogues, but another pack trying to take theirs over.
