Ellie’s P.O.V
Matt starts the car and we pull away from the place I once called home. There’s an awkward silence that consumes us. I stare out the window to try to keep my thoughts from making me upset. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy that he signed the papers but it’s what I saw while I was at the house that upset me more. As I’m pondering my thoughts, the sound of Matt’s voice pulls me back to reality.
“Are you ok?” He asks while reaching for my hand.
“Ye-yeah” I say before quickly changing my answer. “Actually, no I’m not ok”.
