Chiron woke up with a terrible headache.
His entire body felt numb, as if he was paralyzed from head to toe. As his senses returned, his vision was blurry and his awareness was skewed.
A skilled warrior like himself would be in a constant state of awareness. However, Chiron felt differently this time.
He felt… almost powerless.
“You’re finally awake, huh?” A voice woke him from his delirious state, and from the blurry view he could make out, there was an infant above him.
Chiron was lying flat on the ground, his back embracing the dirt. The baby that floated above him was a few inches in midair, and its small lips uttered comprehensible words.
“You won’t be able to move for a while. It took some effort to remove the poison in your body. You’re welcome, by the way…”
