“Ahh…” As Kai—or Zephyr as he still liked to refer to himself as—opened his eyes, he was met with the sight of a dark ceiling above his head. The grimy earth and dirty surface told him this was a cave that was carved quite recently. And Zephyr could already tell who was responsible for it. ‘Looks like he didn’t kill me, after all…’ Zephyr smiled at himself. He wouldn’t have appreciated being killed after a mere two months in his new life. Especially with the trouble he had to go through in order to successfully Reincarnate. ‘Using his wife’s Soul as a hostage seemed to do the trick. Or maybe he just felt reluctant to kill a kid…?’ Either way, Zephyr was glad to be alive. He inhaled deeply, exhaling not long after. He didn’t know how long he had been asleep, but his body felt weak.
