THEY WERE STANDING in front of their vacation home marveling at the exterior changes. The footbridge across the stream had been replaced, as had the gazebo, and the pool at the base of the little waterfall was a foot deeper than before, due to a double row of rocks around its perimeter.
“This is so cool,” Ted said. “Can I get in the pool?”
“Sure,” Chris said. “Just remember that water is really cold, as you’ll find out, if you try to wade in it.”
Ted slipped off his sandals and stepped into the pool. “It’s real cold!” he said.
“The house looks so great, at least on the outside,” Chris said.
“I agree,” Mickey said. “Why don’t we go inside and see what’s been accomplished there? I still can’t believe they finished it so quickly.”
