trembled in Brian’s arms, her eyes filled with tears. “I know, Father,” she whispered. “But I love him.” Marcus lunged forward, his jaws snapping shut inches from Brian’s face. “Love!” he spat. “That is not the way of the pack. You must put the needs of the pack first, Alisa. And the needs of the pack dictate that you cannot be with this outsider.” Brian felt a rising sense of anger and frustration. He knew that Marcus was right, that the rules of the pack were clear. But he could not help the way he felt. He loved Alisa with all his heart, and he would do anything to protect her. “Please, Marcus,” he said, trying to keep his voice calm. “We love each other. We will not cause any harm to the pack.” Marcus turned his glare towards Brian, his eyes like burning coals. “You do not understand, outsider. You cannot be trusted. Your loyalty is in question. You are always looking for ways to undermine the pack. And now, you have seduced my daughter, trying to weaken us from within.” Brian bristled at the accusation. “That’s not true,” he growled. “I love Alisa. I would never do anything to hurt her, or the pack.” But Marcus was beyond reason. He bared his teeth, his body coiled for attack. “You have made your choice. You will suffer the consequences. Guards!” he barked, his voice echoing through the clearing. Brian tensed, ready to fight. But he knew that against the entire pack, he would be outnumbered and outmatched. He tightened his grip on Alisa, holding her close. The guards arrived, their growls low and menacing. They circled around Brian and Alisa, eyeing them warily. In the eerie silence that followed, Brian knew that he had to make a choice. He could fight, and risk harming Alisa and the pack, or he could flee, and never see her again. With a heavy heart, Brian made his decision. He turned and bolted into the forest, Alisa’s cries echoing behind him. He ran faster than he ever had before, his heart pounding with a mix of fear and longing. He didn’t know where he was going, only that he had to put as much distance between himself and the rival pack as possible. He ran until his legs burned and his lungs ached. He slowed to a walk, trying to catch his breath. He looked around, taking in his surroundings. He did not recognize where he was. He was lost. The realization hit him like a blow to the chest. He was alone, cast out from the pack he had grown to love. He felt a sense of despair wash over him. Was this his fate, to always be an outsider, unloved and unwanted? As he wandered through the forest, he heard the howls of the rival pack in the distance. He knew that they would be searching for him, that they would stop at nothing to bring him back and punish him for his transgressions. But he also knew that he could not go back. He had made his choice, and now he would have to face the consequences. He clung to the hope that one day he would be reunited with Alisa, that they would find a way to be together, even if it meant defying the rules of the pack. But for now, he was alone and lost in the forest, facing an uncertain future. The howls grew louder, and he knew that he had to keep moving, to keep running, if he wanted to survive. Panting, Brian ran through the dense forest, his heart pounding with fear and regret. He couldn’t believe what had just happened – his forbidden love for Alisa had been exposed, and now he was a wanted outsider in a land where he had once felt hopeful and welcomed. As he stumbled through the underbrush, Brian heard the sound of distant howls growing closer. Fear gripped him as he realized that his pursuers were gaining ground. He pushed himself harder, his legs burning with exertion, but he knew that he couldn’t outrun them forever. Just as he was about to give up, Brian spotted a figure emerging from the trees up ahead. The newcomer was slender and dark-furred, with a confident stance and piercing amber eyes that seemed to glow in the moonlight. “Who are you?” Brian gasped, as the stranger drew closer. “My name is Cillian,” the wolf replied, his voice deep and melodic. “I’ve been watching you, Brian. You’re in danger, my friend.” Brian felt a sudden surge of hope. Maybe this Cillian could help him – maybe he wasn’t alone after all. “What can I do?” Brian asked, his eyes pleading. Cillian stepped closer, his breath warm against Brian’s neck. “We must find a way to unite the packs,” he said, his eyes shining with fierce determination. “Only then can we truly be free.” Brian felt a sudden rush of excitement. This was it – the moment he had been waiting for. If they could unite the packs, then maybe he and Alisa could finally be together without fear of reprisal. Maybe he could finally find his place in the world, and fulfill his duties as an alpha with honor and pride. He turned to Cillian, his eyes blazing with determination. “I’m with you,” he said firmly. “Let’s do this.” But as they turned to head deeper into the forest, a sudden howl pierced the night sky, followed by a chorus of angry growls and snarls. Brian felt his heart sink as he realized that they had been discovered. “We have to move,” Cillian said urgently, as the sound of approaching footsteps grew louder. “Trust me, Brian – I won’t let them hurt you.” With that, the two wolves disappeared into the trees, their paws pounding against the leaf-strewn forest floor. Brian felt a sense of exhilaration and fear coursing through his veins, as he followed Cillian deeper into the heart of the pack’s territory. But as they raced through the darkness, Brian couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being hunted – and that their time was quickly running out
