Logan's POV
I sat up almost immediately, spilling my wine in the process.
“What do you mean she's not home?!” I asked quickly. “She didn't leave the office early but she left before nightfall!”
The voice on the other end sobbed before stifling that sob. It was Naomi's mother and even though she tried to keep calm, I could hear the desperation in her voice, the pain and the fear that her daughter might be missing or worse…
I suddenly rose to my feet. This can't be happening now! No. I had to find her. Naomi won't go missing on my watch!
“Hang on, Mrs Carter.” I tried to calm the woman. “I'm sure Naomi's fine. I'll look for her and wherever she is, I'll bring her home.”
I ended the call after the woman had expressed her gratitude. Naomi hasn't come back home, the words kept ringing in
