Noami’s POV
“Who's there?” Logan's voice barked from inside the room. They both stopped and turned to see who it was, but I swiftly shifted to the nearest wall, right next to the door, trying to calm my raging heart.
I shut my eyes tight and bite my lips.
“Wait here,” he whispered to Lyra. Despite their little whisper, I still heard it and also the footsteps of him slowly approaching the door.
I froze, not knowing what to do.
Run!
That tiny little voice in my head screamed at me. I tried, I swear, I did. But my body just won't carry me.
The sound of the vase shattering still rang in my ears, and just as I thought he was going to catch me here, but then, a hand closed around my arm, grabbing me backwards.
I barely bit back a scream as my body jerked backward, colliding again
