She didn’t answer. But the silence said enough.
“He wouldn’t do that,” I said, heat rising to my face. “He wouldn’t betray anyone like that. He’s… he’s loyal. How could you think of such a thing? He helped to check out what had happened!”
“Loyalty is often the perfect cover,” Lyra said. “We’re not accusing him. But questions are being asked. And people talk. Especially after seeing him disappear from the hallways right before the alarms. And also, he left you, didn't he?”
I remembered. Logan had been called by an Alpha, so he had to go check out what was up. I hadn’t questioned it.
