The next morning, the sun broke in through the hospital windows like it had something to prove. It wasn't the gentle light from yesterday's golden hour, but a sharp, unapologetic kind of brightness. The kind that made you squint even with your eyes closed. Still, it wasn't unwelcome. Not today. I wanted to be a little ray of sunshine, and what better way than receiving the bright sunlight that almost blinded my eyes first?
