Almost all international commercial air travel into and out of Tokyo involves the Narita International Airport, rather than Haneda Airport in actual Tokyo. The Narita airport is an hour from central Tokyo by the fastest train and, while most passengers either head for Tokyo or connect to other parts of Asia, most crews, including ours, layover in the town of Narita. Our hotel is ten minutes from the airport and about fifty feet from the middle of nowhere. The hotel provides an hourly shuttle service into the little downtown area of Narita, which we call Green Street on account of the large green stripe painted along the side of the main road.
