In the next few weeks, Shine made sure to establish a strong presence on the internet.
He gained fans from all over the world and started earning millions of dollars daily. His friends provided him with unwavering support. Mr. and Mrs. Yi ensured that Shine felt comfortable during his stay, treating him like their own son.
Fast forward to when it was time to go back to school.
Kendrick and Shine were given money to buy their supplies and new clothes. Shine wanted to decline, but Mr. Yi warned him against it. They prepared their belongings and packed everything into Kendrick's car.
"Well, we're off then. Mom, take good care of yourself. I'll call Dad later," Shine said.
Mr. Yi had already left for work earlier that morning.
"Aunt, thank you so much for everything. I really appreciate your love and care," Shine expressed his gratitude.
"Oh, my dear, there's no need for that. I'm your mother now. If you need anything, don't hesitate to tell me."
"Alright, Aunt....”
"Nope, don't call me that. Call me 'Mom,'" she interrupted.
"Okay, Mom," Shine said with a smile and gave her a hug. She returned the hug.
Kendrick stood beside them with folded arms, looking at them as if he were the stranger in the house.
"It looks like I'm an orphan now. I'll just leave you guys to it," he joked and walked away.
Shine and Mrs. Yi laughed at him before finally heading to school.
In the school hostel, the compound was bustling with students and their guardians. They found a spot and parked the car. Kendrick called Divine and Emerson to come and help them carry their luggage to their room.
Back in their room,
Kendrick exclaimed, "Wow, did you guys see how all the ladies were looking at us? They've fallen in love with me.”
He made all of them laugh.
"Man, I'm sure they were looking at Shine because even I can't take my eyes off him. You have changed a lot," Emerson said.
"I second you. I never knew you were this handsome. I'm into girls, but if I weren't, I would have proposed to you," the quiet Divine said jokingly, making all of them laugh.
"It's okay about me. How have you guys been?"
"Well, pretty okay," Emerson responded.
They talked and laughed while Kendrick and Shine were arranging their things in the locker.
Since it was the weekend, they took a nap for a while.
In the evening, the four of them decided to go out and grab something to eat.
"Hey, why don't we order something instead? I'm really tired," Emerson suggested.
"Not a bad idea, but I just want to look around a little. Since we came back in the morning, we've been indoors. Let's go out for some fresh air," Kendrick said.
"Alright, Mr. Man," Emerson responded sarcastically, making them look at him in amusement.
"You complain a lot, why?" Kendrick asked Emerson.
"Nothing, let's get dressed and go out."
They went to a pizza shop near the school because Emerson kept whining nonstop.
"I don't know what's gotten into you, but you better change it," Shine said to Emerson this time.
"The tables have turned," Kendrick said. "It was Shine who was behaving like this last semester."
As they were talking, they had already arrived at the restaurant. Every first day of school, students like to spend lavishly. The place was full of students. The boys were shocked. They turned around to leave when a waitress approached them.
"Please, are you here to buy pizza?" she asked shyly, while staring at Shine seductively.
*He looks like a Greek god. I must have his contact,* the waitress thought.
All three guys were looking at her like she was dumb.
"Excuse us, miss. This place is full, so we are going somewhere else. Can you move out of our way?" Emerson said to her.
"Oh no, please hold on a minute. I'll be right back," she told them and left.
"All the ladies, including the men in the shop, are looking at Shine too much. I can't see any difference with him," Kendrick said.
"That's because you've been seeing him during the vacation," Emerson said, and Divine agreed with him.
"He looks like a Greek god and he's matured now," Divine said.
The waitress came back.
