Hailey’s POV:
The moment I opened my eyes, I recognised the familiarity of our bedroom. The room where Aiden and I slept after my hospital discharge last week.
I had no idea how long it had been since Aiden had brought me out of the scrub room.
Growing more conscious of my environment, I came to the realisation that we were in bed. Aiden rested against the headboard, engrossed in a book, his left arm draped around me, idly massaging my head. This is how I would love to start every morning.
Aiden closes the book he had been reading and directs his attention towards me. With a kiss on my head, he greets me affectionately, “Hey, beautiful”.
