Dwayne watched over her as she slept peacefully "You got someone pretty interesting here Ototo." Misaki said as she stood up from her seat "Bring her to my hospital. She needs to be taken care of." Misaki said as she walked past her brother tapping him on the shoulder "She's fine, she does need more rest. It was a bit strange though. She zoned out and started hyperventilating. Something must have had disturbed her to be able to give that reaction."
Dwayne nodded, "I'll get my guys to grab some info." Dwayne said not leaving Theresa.
"Stop staring at her you creep. She's a child." Misaki scolded her brother who groaned and turned to Misaki, pushing out the door, but carefully so that she couldn't trip in those ridiculous heels of hers. "I'll bring her, get there safe. Please?" Dwayne said as he walked her to her car, walking down the long hallway.
"Don't be such a worry wart." She rolled her eyes "I am not." He sighed as he helped her down the staircase, Dwayne looked up to see her chauffeur opening the door to her white Royce. "A new car?" He raised a brow to his sister who simply shrugged.
"Wes bought it for me. We have 5 cars in the garage and he wants to add a new one to the group. I told him to build a unit for my birthday. I found a perfect place for it too." She clapped her hands together as she ducked into the car, the chauffeur left to get in the drivers seat. "What's the unit for?" Dwayne asked, his hands in his pocket "For the homeless downtown. I got some of my guys getting everyone's information down, by the next few months we'll have them in the units."
"A new project?" He smiled at his sister, she was always caring for everyone, always putting others before her, and now this. Dwayne could see their mother in her, that was her personality and she inherited it from her "Alright, you're doing great née san." Dwayne ducked in giving her a kiss on the cheek and closed the door for her, She pushed the button that rolled down her window "Love you." She blew air kisses and he waved "Love you too."
"Don't be a pervert." She stuck her tongue out as the car slowly started to drive off "No promises." Dwayne joked, she popped her head out "I'm telling Killian!" She shouted "i***t! Get back in the car before you get hurt!" Dwayne yelled, although the car was going 10 he was still anxious.
"Hai, Hai!" She waved him off popping back inside the car.
"She will be the death of me." He groaned as he watched the car drove out of his gate. He walked back inside his mansion, "Sir, I got Detective Lucas is waiting for you at the library." Patrick informed as Dwayne nodded and made his way to meet his friend.
Dwayne made his way towards the library, which was located on the second floor next to his study and the guest room, standing in front of the large ash wood door , pushing the large silver handle he was greeted by the smell of fresh new books and the faint aroma of old books that were handed down from generation. And then there's that smell that is just not meant to be there "Jeez Lucas, you need to throw that cologne out!" Dwayne pinched the bridge of his nose frustrated and annoyed by the smell.
"Hey, my mother gave me that cologne." Dwayne looked over at a rugged man sprawled out on the sofa, a book opened and settled on his face, "Mrs Velmon really need to get that nasal surgery." Dwayne walked over towards his friend, sitting in the arm chair opposite of him .
"Yeah, my hard work finally paid off." Lucas lifted the book and gave his childhood friend a wink "Thanks for giving me the job." He added Dwayne nodded his head "Thanks for accepting the job." Dwayne leaned back on his chair, his arm propping on the arm of the chair as he leaned on the palm of his hand "What seems to be the problem?" Dwayne asked "The girl you told me about..she seems to be an interesting case." Lucas's voice was muffled behind the book "How so?" He questioned.
"Envelope." Lucas pointed to the orange envelop lying on top of the glass coffee table. Dwayne hesitated at first and leaned forward picking up the orange envelope "You might even be surprised. I thought I was the best of the best, but this girl.....is a total mystery. You gave me 2 days, this is all I could get in 2 days." Dwayne opened the envelop, his eyes scanning through and he raised brow "Nothing?" Nothing at all?" He questioned, Lucas took the book off and got up.
"It's strange isn't it?" Lucas's eyes lit up, he was excited, the mystery excited him. Dwayne seemed very intrigued by the mystery too 'Who are you Theresa?' He asked, he brought his forefinger to his lips, "Lucas, will you still be investigating in this?" He asked, Lucas scoffed "You got me hooked on this lady. How can I not?" He ran a hand through his curly locks as he leaned back , propping his arm on the head of the sofa "I love a challenge." Lucas smirked, Dwayne still staring at the paper, deep in thought.
Questions flew around, she was not only childish but has a very mysterious background. "Only someone who has a dark secret can wipe out their whole personal information. When we had to access in to her info, there was a password, now here's the weird thing about it. Even though there was a password in her personal info, there was s only her fake name, age and her address. No family, no school. It's weird, now, another weird thing is that...there's a photo."
Dwayne tipped the envelop as a few photos slipped out. Picking it up, he saw Theresa smiling with a familiar looking girl, he didn't pay any mind to her though as he noticed the school she attended. She went to the same high school as his nephew "What a small world." He smiled.
"Isn't that the school Ryan attended?" Lucas asked, Dwayne nodded "Looks like I'll be giving my nephew a call."
"Wait, wouldn't he find it strange about you asking about his previous school mate?" Lucas eyed his friend, "That's if he knows her, I don't think I've ever seen this girl come over to any of the family lunches. And you know him." Dwayne replied, referring to the fact that his nephew brought over a new girl to their family lunches.
Lucas scoffed "Just like his Uncle." Dwayne glared at him, "Ooh, I'm shaking." Lucas shook his hands dramatically. "But it's just in your genes." Lucas admitted shrugging his shoulders "Enough. Keep searching, get Dorian in on this too. I want to know about where she came from, who her family is, anything related to her report it back to me."
Lucas's glanced over to him a smile crept on his lip, Dwayne felt him staring, his eyes left the paper, not wanting to look at his friend and see that creepy smile on his face. "Stop being annoying." Dwayne sighed as he looked over to Lucas who was batting his eyes at him "But you love me."
"I'd love it even better if you disappeared from my library." Dwayne said lowly "How cold! Even if you're incredibly handsome, you're still an asshole." Lucas placed a hand against his chest in a hurtful manner "Yeah yeah." Dwayne waved him off "Yeah yeah my ass." Lucas gritted as he walked up to Dwayne caging him in his seat, Dwayne looked up at the smiling brown head "You seem very interested in this kid." He smiled leaning down to his level.
Dwayne scoffs "Of course, we are both officers of the law. Any threat could endanger the people we love." Dwayne replied.
"Excuse me-" Patrick and a maid entered as the two man realised what position they're in.
