Devin’s POV “Leave!” The word had stung as she said it, chasing me from her bedside. Standing by her bedside, unable to look her in the face. I felt like I was being stabbed in multiple places. I stood, despite all my resolve to stay back with her. She had called me my father, despite knowing I hated everything about him. “I’m sorry,” She didn’t seem to want to listen to my apology as she turned her face away. I walked towards the door, taking one look at her. She hadn’t turned her face in my direction. I sighed deeply as I walked out the door, hearing the bolt clank in place as I shut it behind me.
