Trust can be earned

Chapter Two

When we reach Morgan’s family home his father is outside waiting for us, when we get out of the car my mother gives me one last hug before heading inside to find Lacey. It looks like the Quinn’s and my family have gotten close since that night, I couldn’t be anymore grateful that my mother and father had support after what Lorenzo did. When we reached Shaun Morgan says, “Dad what we need to discuss is need to know, the less that know the better for everyone.”

Shaun regards his son and then looks at me for a few seconds before looking back at Morgan, he gives a curt nod and says, “Come, Rocco is already waiting, I assume these two are in the know.” Shaun nods to Charlie and Taylor, to be honest I had forgotten they were with us.

Morgan gives his dad a nod in response, Shaun looks at everyone before saying, “You all better follow me then.”

Shaun turns and heads through the door with us all following, when we get into his office and the door shuts my father practically tackles me to the ground. Everyone but Shaun chuckles.

Shaun on the other hand asks frustratedly “Will someone tell me what the f**k is happening right now?”

I pull away from my father and look at Morgan before saying “Maybe I should take the lead on this explanation?” Morgan nods as he takes a seat on one of the sofa’s, Charlie and Taylor sit with him while Rico and my father take the armchairs.

I take the seat opposite Shaun’s as he takes his own, he narrows his eyes at me before asking, “I know you are Rico’s daughter, but Lace is right you are so similar to Savannah.”

I chuckle and respond, “We are the same.” Shaun gives a confused look, before he can ask me anything I say, “I hope you’re ready for quite an unbelievable story?”

Shaun looks at Morgan before looking at me and saying, “I’m listening.”

I take a deep breath and start explaining, “The night of the wedding, Savannah never died.” Shaun looks more confused but doesn’t say anything waiting for me to continue, so I do “A couple of years ago my uncle informed my father of his daughter’s death, due to the circumstances he needed to keep it quiet. He informed everyone her mother had run away with her, when we heard this, I approached my uncle and asked if I could use Sirena’s identity if anything were to ever happen.”

I look over at Rico with a sad smile before turning back to Shaun, he still doesn’t say a word, so I continue “When I found out what Dante was up to, I teamed up with my own people and Morgan, we put together faking my death in case Enzo sided with Dante, and we all know how that turned out.” I shrug taking a breath.

Shaun then asks, “So hang on, you’re telling me you’re not Sirena but Savannah.”

I chuckle and respond, “Surgery is incredible now a days, don’t you think?”

Shaun just looks on in shock before saying, “I’m sorry but…”

“Dad she is telling the truth.”

Shaun scoffs saying, “And how would you know you were in Italy.”

Morgan shakes his head before saying “Actually, I was in New Zealand first with Savannah. We didn’t go to Italy until she had healed enough, I was only in Italy a month.”

Shaun looks between Morgan and I, then he asks, “So the engagement?” I look over my shoulder at Morgan who is looking at me, I give him a nod indicating for him to tell the truth.

He looks at his father and says, “It is fake, we are however dating for real.” I look at my father not sure what to expect, I wasn’t expecting the smile on his face when his eyes met mine.

Shaun clears his throat and asks “Sorry but I’m still confused so, you are in fact Savannah, but we are to call you Sirena. You are both dating while being fake engaged, so how exactly does this end?”

I answer “I am here as Sirena to f**k with Enzo, just before his empire falls, I will have the surgeries reversed. I will then finish what Sirena and Morgan started and end his miserable life for good, as far as Morgan and me. Well, honestly, I am in love with him and think I always was. I was stupid not to see it and blinded by making my father proud, now I know that fake engagement or not I will be Morgans wife.”

I look at Shaun with determination, he matches my look as he stands and says, “Welcome home, and whether it’s as Sirena or Savannah, welcome to the family.”

Morgan jumps up and comes to my side, Shaun gives his son a wide grin before saying “Now I understand the need to know, I do have some questions I still want answered.” I nod waiting for his first one “Who are these two, and how are they involved?”

I don’t need to turn to know who Shaun is referring to so I simply state “This is Taylor my second in command and Charlie, she is the doctor that took care of me after my surgeries. She will now be my personal doctor as well as my men’s, and yes papa I know I should have told you I have my own people. But if I had none of this would be happening, things could have been a whole lot worse had you of all known.”

My father sighs but says, “I understand, I’m not mad in fact I am proud that you had these. I would however like to meet your men; they will need to be introduced when you take over, so my men know who they are working with.”

I give a curt nod glad he isn’t giving me the third degree about it; I look back at Shaun and wait for his next question. He looks me in the eye and asks, “Who are you telling about this?”

I sigh before answering “Just us in this room and Ignacio, not even my men will know the truth until the right time. Enzo managed to turn some of your men against us papa, no one can be trusted so everyone has to think I’m Sirena. One slip and it’s all over.”

Shaun cuts me off asking “Hang on, if you’re here and Sirena really died years ago who is in your grave?” I smirk and answer “Sirena is in my grave.” Shaun seems to understand what I am saying, and he nods indicating that is all he needs to know.

We discuss a few more things before leaving the office and meeting with everyone else, Ignacio is with them in the kitchen along with his wife Adelina and Andres. The conversation stops as everyone looks at me, the newcomers gasping in shock. Morgan pulls me to his side by my waist, he clears his throat and introduces me to the Lopez family “This is Sirena, Rocco and Valentina’s niece and my fiancé.”

Andres scoffs “You have forgotten Savannah so quickly.” I try to hide my face feeling guilty for the hurt in Andres’ eyes, hurt that I have put there.

Rico seems to see my discomfort he growls, “Savannah, will never be forgotten but she is not here. This is a business deal; you will treat my daughter with the same respect you treated Savannah understood?”

Ignacio looked as if he was going to step in, but Shaun and my father shook their heads, he looked confused before Shaun says “Ignacio, Rocco, Rico, and I have a business matter to discuss. Let’s leave the kids and ladies to chat, please.”

Ignacio looks around the room with narrowed eyes before huffing “Fine.” Shaun chuckles as Ignacio stomps past him heading towards the office.

Andres seems uncomfortable with my presence as does Nora and Sasha, Lacey and Adelina couldn’t stop staring at me making me a little uncomfortable. I can’t stand it any longer and my mother can tell because she just keeps smirking at me waiting, I finally suck in a breath.
