DRIZELLA'S POV.
Oh no! No, no, no no, I thought as our eyes met, his violet eyes stared into mine intensely
making my skin warm. He looked like a predator watching its prey, I force myself to look away
first as I hugged my cloak tightly, I tried to pretend like I was okay meanwhile o could pass out
from fear anytime soon. “Why are you here?” I asked as he tilts his head, “Because I can?” He
replies and I roll my eyes, I scoffed as I look back at him. “Well we don't need you here, you can
leave” I say and I regretted talking because as soon as those words met my mouth he appeared
infront of me, too close, way too close. I gasped leaning backwards as I stared at him, I noticed
his face up close as his breath fans across my face, his height was imposing his shadowd
moving around him, his eyes travels over my face as he raised his hand.
“What are you…” the next moment my hood was off my head as my hair spilled out as the moon
shone on it, “Hey!” I exclaimed stepping back as I gathered my hair frantically into the hood
again. “Your behaviour is like that of an untrained child, you should leave you dark faes are
trouble,” I say and he steps back, “Kael. My name is Kael” he says and I look at him, why was
he telling me his name? “You fear me,” he says and I shake my head. “I fear no one Kael,” I
reply and I see a slow smile form on his face, “Your heart beat says other wise” he says and
you could imagine my horror. I clutched my chest quickly, “How…how can you hear my
heartbeat?” I ask, “I have peculiar senses Ella.”
Great heavens! Hearing him use my nickname made me want to melt, my name sounded so
right coming from him. Gods! What had this dark fae done to me? I thought, “You're royalty,
aren't you?” He asks me. There was absolutely no way I was telling a dark fae my real identity,
no way. “I'm not,” I reply “Your hair and eyes says otherwise Ella” he says. “Mother says it's a
gift,” I lied quickly and he nods, “Tell me why you're here alone,” he says “Father won't let me
come out in the daytime” I reply lying easily now. “Why?” He asks, “I'm allergic to the sun,” I
reply before rolling my eyes, “You're allergic to the sunlight?” He asks. “Yes i***t!” I replied and
he looks at me, oh no. I'd upset him, “He does it to protect me” I say and he nods accepting my
lie. “I have to go,” I say and I turn, “Could you perhaps tell me your real name?! He calls from
behind, how did he know I was lying? Oh God I think I've landed myself in trouble, “I'll be here again if you want to see me,” he adds but I didn't care. I was already upset at him, first he opens
my hair then he has the right to start bothering me, he definitely wasn't letting me go anytime
soon.

Next Morning,
“Princess?!” I heard my name as I jolted. I slowly raised my head from the book I didn't have any
interest in as I met my teacher staring at me, I hated it whenever I zoned off in class, the other
girls usually used it as a way to insult me further. I give my teacher Master Orielon a tight smile
as he hisses, “Up, get up princess” he says as I swallowed before slowly standing up, I could
already hear them whispering. “You weren't listening, again princess” he says “I was…really I
was,” I reply and he smirks. “If that's the case, tell me what I said last about the West region” he
says and I just hoped I had magic to make the earth swallow me. I rub my palms on my dress
when I hear snickering, “Silence!” He yells slamming his ruler on the table, “Speak up princess
Drizella” he say. “Your father had told me to pay more attention on you,” he adds “Okay, if you
can't tell me what I said last tell me what caused the light realm to always celebrate the moon
festival?” He asks. “We always celebrate the moon because the first treaty was a moonstone
treaty” I reply taking a wild guess, he nods.
“Sit and focus!” He warns and I nod, “You're still quite as embarrassing as we were since
childhood Drizella” Daphne says from behind me, I turn sharply to look at her, she was a green
eyed blonde who's family supported the royal palace. “I'll rip out your tongue with my hands if
you say another word against me,” I reply she pales before adjusting in her seat. “Good “ she
knew better than to make me upset, I was the reason for the huge scar across her palm and I
didn't care one bit.
A knock echoed as Leon walks in. My teacher greets him and Leon nods, “Drizella father asks
of you” he says and I nod standing up quickly, at least I didn't get to bed this horrible class. I
followed Leon out towards the throne room, there I see my brothers and my father there, Sylas
greets me and I smile waving at him. “Drizella won't you greet your king?” Father asks and I turn
to look at him, even as much as I was upset with him, he was still my father, “king father” I
bowed as I greeted him. “Rise,” he replies and I stand, I look at Elion but he looks away,
although he was my brother he hated the fact that I didn't have powers. He was just like the
others always treating me less, “Your mother would be coming home soon,” father says and I
smiled. Mother had gone to the country side to recuperate, she had fallen really I'll but I guess
she was better since she was coming back home, father tells us to be on our good behaviours
and not to stress out our mother. He's about to conclud when Elion speaks, “Drizella isn't one of
us Father, I always say this” his words were like a stab to the chest, “We can't let an empty fae
like her feel important father,“ he adds. Heat rushes through me immediately as my cheeks
reddened from embarrassment, “Elion that our sister!,” Leon snapped, “Treat her with respect”
he added. “I most definitely will, once she has powers” he says.
“Elion! You won't speak about your sister like that!” Father roars but nothing he did could take
back his words, I stood rooted to the spot as I tried so hard to stop my tears but one falls then
another. “I didn't ask to be borned empty Eli,” I say as I look at my brother my voice quivering
with emotion, sometimes I pretended like I wasn't affected by thier words but today everything
finally got to me. I turn on my heels as I leave the throne room, I rushed into my room and I finally let my tears fall freely, I covered my face as his words echoed in my head. Maybe he was
right, maybe I wasn't one of them, I could be human. I wasn't a fae, faes had powers and I
didn't.
My door opens revealing Leon, he walks towards me before pulling me into his arms. “I also
wish to control something Leo, I didn't ask for this…I…I never asked for this” I say as I hiccuped,
he strokes my hair slowly as he whispers reassuring words to me. “Drizella you don't need to
listen to Eli, he's a bitter kid” he says and I pull away, “He's not bitter he's right, they are all right.
I'm just some stupid empty fae” I say “No, no don't say that Driz,” you're not empty he says
wiping my tears as he leads me to the bed, “You're one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring
person I've ever met Driz” he says and I forcefully smiled. “Well I guess I don't need those
attributes since people don't appreciate it enough,” I say wiping my eyes softly, “I appreciate you
Driz, I really do and everyone loves you so please stop worrying too much about some damned
powers” he replies. “Fun fact they take a toll on you, I'm really tired of mine” he says and I laugh,
he smiles brushing my hair back. “So tell me, what have you been up to?” He asks and I shake
my head, “Nothing” I replied quickly, big mistake. “You're lying, you know I hate when you lie to
me Drizella” he says “it's hot here, I'll open the windows” I reply as I stand to open the windows,
“Drizella tell me” he says, but how do I tell my brother that I was thinking of a certain dark fae
and hoping to see him tonight again.
