Evelyn recognized it was Gavin and feigned stepping back in fear.
But Daniel didn't see it that way. His expression changed drastically as he glanced at the millions of chips stacked in the center of the table, then at his own cards, and finally at Gavin.
Daniel believed he could win, but unease and guilt overwhelmed him at the thought of using his daughter as a stake. After a moment of hesitation, his desire overcame his rationality, and he asked again, "Are you sure?"
