Mai was standing by her brother as he lay sleeping on the Healing Stone when Fojan found her. Barka was sitting on her shoulder, looking down at Long. Mai spoke to Long even though she wasn’t certain he could hear her. She told him how much she missed him. She admitted that she wished someone else had been chosen by the Sanakra.
