Chapter Twelve The DrawingThe next morning Mai couldn’t believe what she was seeing when she entered the healing chamber. She stared at the stone, feeling both shock and happiness.
‘The stone is blue!’ Mai said breathlessly.
Underneath Long’s sleeping body the entire stone shone azure blue. She went to leave but turned back once more to view the stone, just to be sure.
‘The stone is blue,’ she said, much louder this time. She ran out of the chamber calling out, ‘The stone is blue!’ all the way to the chamber where everyone else was still sleeping.
When she reached the chamber Kalin was sitting up, rubbing his eyes.
‘The stone is blue!’ She smiled brightly. ‘The stone—’
‘—is blue,’ Aque finished as he stretched himself awake. ‘We heard.’
