Chapter 11

1054 Words

Rebecca’s POV The sound of the horn was so loud, tearing through the air like something violent and unexpected had just been unleashed. I felt my feet freeze. Then came the shouting… deep growls…and running footsteps. My heart jumped so hard it felt like it was trying to escape my chest. Something was wrong. Very wrong. And it didn't look like it was getting better. Matthew moved first. One second he was standing still, the next—his entire expression changed. His jaw tightened, his eyes darkened, and it looked like something dangerous flashed through them. “They’re here,” he said, his voice low and deadly. “Ezekiel, we need to move her. Now.” Ezekiel was already on his feet, but this time… he didn’t look calm. Not even a little. “The secure wing,” he said quickly. “Let’s go.”
