Elias's POV I tried to open my eyes a bit and the chains clinged into my wrists every time I moved. At first, the pain had been unbearable. Now it had become something worse, I couldn't even feel some parts of my body now. Where I was smelled of mold, old blood, mine and maybe others, and something like decay. Water dripped steadily from somewhere beyond where I could see in the dark, each drop echoing through the room like a countdown timer. It felt a little irritating. I was hung from iron restraints fixed to a heavy wooden beam on the top of my head, my body trembling from tiredness. The corruption was spreading again. I could feel it beneath my skin. Dark veins ran across my chest and down my arms like roots that were alive searching for every piece of me they hadn't claimed
