Rebecca’s POV Their words lingered in my mind as if they had been engraved in a stone I was very familiar with. "They will not die while protecting the witch that caused the war." I slumped down against the chilly cold wall, bringing my legs close to my body as I looked into the empty space ahead. My mark felt unusually weighty today. Not burning. Not glowing wildly. Just there. A whispering reminder that all that lies beyond these walls somehow came back to me. Matthew was still not done with pacing around. It was like he’s new favourite habit. Each step he took seemed to be even louder than the one before, and he seemed to be just moments away from going insane. Ezekiel still had his back resting against the wall opposite him while lost in deep thought. Tyler stayed beside me.
