She punctuated the sentiment by tossing her phone onto the table with too much force. “But the catering is good,” Mike added eying Lynn and the food spread. “Help yourselves. Gotta love the hospitality of small town locals, right?” Lynn nodded and didn’t need to be asked twice. She grabbed a tuna sandwich, a napkin and a bottle of water and sat down within easy reach of the rest. TJ grabbed two sandwiches, one egg, one tuna, stacked them one on top of the other and took a big bite. Mike and Ellie watched them eat with a bemused look on their faces. “We might as well make the most of this time and compare notes,” Mike said, looking at TJ and Lynn expectantly. “But finish eating first, by all means.” Now that she finally had food in her mouth, Lynn didn’t think she’d be able to stop.
