"Was he big at least?" Lila asked me the next day as we were walking on the treadmill side by side at my gym.
"Freakishly." I answered.
"That's how Leo was." She looked away with a wistful look in her eyes and I rolled my own.
"Will you just call that man back? He blows up your phone day and night, sends you cute texts, and you even said it's the best s*x you've ever had." I said.
"No, he wants more and I'm not sure I can give it to him." She whispers.
"You will on your own time." We were both struggling with feelings we wouldn't admit with two stubborn men.
I sped up my treadmill and blasted my music louder, willing myself to forget what happened this morning. I put on a front for Lila but I knew I was hurt.
The note he left still replayed in my mind. Had to go to work, see yourself out. It was fun.
It was fun? That's all I get?
.....
Christopher's POV
My plan was almost complete. Tonight I would invite her to dinner and crush her spirits, break her heart. She shouldn't mess with me, no one plays with Christopher Rodgers.
I sent her a quick text telling her the details of our dinner tonight, she responded excitedly and I knew I had got her hook line and sinker.
Rosie's POV
"Should I be this excited you think?" I asked Lila, staring in the mirror at my floor length fire truck red dress.
"Yes, of course. You're plan is working. But Rosie I have to ask you something?" A look crossed her face and I turned towards her.
"Yes?"
"You like him don't you. You've fallen for him?" She says and I am not as shocked as I thought I would be hearing it out loud.
"I think I am to be honest. I just needed someone to say it, I feel like I was using this plan as an excuse to be with him, I feel like a failure." I sat down on my bed and she took a seat next to me.
"I knew you did, I can read people. You're a woman who fell for a very handsome and caring man, and you've also managed to get over all the emotions you were harboring over high school at the same time. You barely think about those memories and your body is still smokin'." She smiled at me and suddenly I felt reassured.
"I think I'm going to tell him how I really truly feel." I said, standing up and smoothing my dress out.
She gave me a hug. "Go get him girl."
....
Christopher's POV
She walked in to the restaurant, her eyes scanning the faces for mine. I admired her from afar, the dress fitting her perfectly.
She was breath taking.
But that's not what tonight was about and no matter what I thought, I told myself this was going to be great. Revenge for revenge.
"Hello." I said as she sat down in front of me.
"Christopher." She smiled.
"I ordered us some wine it should be here shortly." I said curtly. I could tell she noticed the change in my voice but chose to ignore it.
"I was disappointed when you left this morning, but I'm happy you called." She smiled genuinely.
"Well work is more important then laying in bed with you." I shrugged and a hurt expression crossed her face.
"Excuse me?" She said, confused.
"Look, everything I've said or done to you since the premiere was fake. It was all apart of my plan to get revenge on you for trying to get revenge on me. Not to mention the fact you weren't good in bed." I say snidely.
"Tell me this is a joke." She laughs dryly.
"No," I start, "And I'm reminded of your body from high school every time I look at you. Frankly, it disgusts me." I hit her where it really hurts.
Tears spring to her eyes and she pushes her chair back. The look of hurt and devastation on her face hits me so suddenly, I instantly regret what I just said. But it's too late.
She furiously wipes at her eyes and tries to hold back the waterfall of tears falling down her face. "I gave you my virginity, holy s**t. I gave you my virginity. I was so stupid to think you cared. I'm so stupid. I can't believe I did this." Her hand flies up to her mouth and she gags a little bit. "I'm going to be sick. I can't handle this right now. I'm sorry I'm so disgusting, I won't let you look at me another second," A loud cry escapes her mouth, "Longer."
I feel a horrible pain in my chest looking at her tear stained face. She got all dolled up for me, she met me here even after I left her this morning. She was crying because of the things I said. If this was all still a game to her she wouldn't be upset.
She's fallen for me.
I f****d up. "Rose." I say, but she meets my eyes with the most horrible haunting look I will ever see in my life. Worse then the looks she used to give me in high school.
"No, please. I can't hear any more." She says, and then she turns around and half runs out of the restraunt leaving me with a broken heart, and I wasn't even the one who got hurt.
